Not only are the illustrations pleasing to the the eye, but they are made of buttons, which are neat to touch and encourage child-book interaction. Illustrations dominate the words, but it works well, regardless.
Book is recommended for ages 4-8, but I would say 1-3 could enjoy with the company of an adult, especially for encouraging reading at an early age.
Themes of color and numbers/counting can be spotted throughout.
