This is a simple yet moving way of helping children understand and cope with death as a form of life.

Death itself is a hard reality that many people face at certain points in their lives and it could very well make the child upset. However, the way the author describes the concept of death is a sweet and calming way while using animals and then of course human beings talking about while using easy to absorb information.

Lifetimes is a moving book for children of all ages, even parents too. It lets us explain life and death in a sensitive, caring, beautiful way. Lifetimes tells us about beginnings. And about endings. And about living in between. With large, wonderful illustrations, it tells about plants. About animals. About people. It tells that dying is as much a part of living as being born. It helps us to remember. It helps us to understand.

This book is for ages 4-7.
Lifetime gives a better understanding about life not only to children, but to parents too. This book helps explain what you can say or do when the death of a pet, relative or friend happens.

Aside from this being an older book (1983), it is very intriguing and beautiful. It is about life cycles - from beginning to end. With emphasis on teaching about the end of the cycle. There is information in this book about people, plants and animals all included. This is teach the children that everything dies in the end. This is a very special book.

A beautiful way to explain life cycles and death to children

A poetic book about death and how it's a natural thing for all.

This is a wonderful book that goes through the life cycle of not only animals but people as well. It does a great job in explaining it to a small child.

This beautiful book uses simplicity to guide children through the beginning, end, and lifetime in between that every living thing faces. By using a wide variety of living things from trees, to rabbits, to the tiniest insects, and at last to humans, we are reminded that every one of us has a different life cycle.

This children helps to explain to children the circle of life. I would recommend this book to children 3-8
