The Chinese concept of “wu-wei,” “effortless action,” brings to mind the words of Christ to the Pharisee Saul on the road to Damascus, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads” (Acts 26:14). Unlike Saul "kicking against the goads," "wu-wei" is more akin to the words in Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. The Bhudda's sayings. They are wise, dry, and repetitive. I recommend reading them if you already have some background in mindfulness or Buddhism; this is not a beginner's book. Get a better translation, though, this one is outdated and clunky.

Wikipedia entry "Max Müller" ((1823–1900), German philologist and orientalist) does not list "Deutsche Liebe" in this scholar's bibliography, but it is in Wikisource (https://de.wikisource.org/wiki/Friedrich_Max_M%C3%BCller) showing it was published in 1857; Googlebook digital copy of the original German is here (https://archive.org/details/deutscheliebeau02mlgoog).
I also found this entry, with his and his wife's correct names, on OCLC WorldCat: Deutsche Liebe ... Fragments ... collected [or rather written] by F. Max Müller. Translated from the German by his wife. Pocket edition, etc.
