2024 movie #181. 1953. Lex Barker's last of 5 Tarzan movies. Ivory poachers, led by Raymond Burr, when he used to play the heavy, kidnap local villagers to harvest tusks from elephants. Tarzan, of course, saves the day. Nothing like the poster scene appears in the movie.

Quick running 2nd feature benefits from great cast, especially the lovely Bradley. Bendix and Sawyer make a good pair as a cab company owner and vice president who are trying their hardest to keep the blonde would-be suicide they rescued from the river (with fishing rods) out of sight of Bendix's wife (Bradley) and Sawyer's fiancee (McKinney, also lovely.)

A teleportation experiment goes horribly wrong.

Pretty damn awesome. There's plenty of corniness and bad science. But there's also disturbing psychological horror, rooted in empathy. My wife observes that she had her "heart strings tugged by a man wearing a rubber fly mask." And there's actually a good ending - very rare for this type of movie.
