Darren Senior

I had never heard of Lionel Palairet until I picked up this book about him and, I sadly have to admit, I still don't know a lot about him now.

Palairet played for Somerset and two Test matches for England, and while Senior supplies the runs he scored in every match, major and minor, he played, precious little of his life outside cricket is covered. If I wanted a list of his scores I could have visited any number of websites that already supply statistics. Sadly, there was so little of Palairet's life intertwined in these scores that I actually enjoyed the section around his golfing exploits more, which considering that I hate golf, is a big statement.… (more)
