I'm not sure how to rate this....so I started this once, months ago, and stopped because I just couldn't get into it. It felt detached and confusing - like I was missing huge chunks of the story.

So, I started it again. I'm glad I gave it a 2nd chance. The story was interesting but I think I would have liked this better as YA. It just seemed like everyone was just so sex crazy! Every boy within Gemma's path or sight wanted her. And they weren't worried about suddenly becoming rapists just to get her. So confusing, perhaps this is a part of her....uh, gifts?

anyway, Alex was interesting. He seemed hot and cold but his cold was explained so I forgave him.

but the storyline seemed a little silly for New Adult. Faeries, Death Walkers, vampires...and her big secret. It just all seemed great for YA, a little inmature for college age.

but it was an interesting story and I am glad I did finish it!… (more)

Candy canes and red lacy bras! Seriously, it was killing me to know Ethan and Lila were giggling and laughing over a private joke and I had no idea what it was!

I love knowing. This story finally ties all that together for us. It pulls the private jokes and banter, dark back stories and current drama. It answers all those "Why on EARTH did Lila and/or Ethan just react that way?"

and, although I loved finding all that out, it just wasn't quite a giggly, romantic loving book like I had hoped. It was drama and angst and turmoil - and that was good too, it just wasn't what I was looking to read at the moment.… (more)

Another Sunnyvale book - taking us into the lives of both Isa and Kai.

Kai is still struggling - struggling in his brother's shadow, struggling to make his parents happy (okay, let's be honest, he's stopped trying) and struggling to make ends meet and spend more time with Isa.

Isa is at a crossroads. Her homelife is still awful but now she has this new attention from both Kai and Kyler. Both boys are sweet and attentive - but only one boy seems to take Isa with all her baggage while the other seems to want to change her.

This book still has Indigo and grandma along with the worst family in history. There are a lot of answers to some of the mysteries in book one but not all of them. I'm ready for book 3!… (more)
