This book was such a good read because it was full of so many emotions that ranged from pain, hurt, insecurities, to passion, and confidence. I was not expecting it to be so emotional, but it was a pleasant surprise because it made these characters seem so much more real. Hunter has pressure from his dad to be the best at football, he is cocky, but he works hard even if it’s burning him out on his favorite sport. His father doesn’t care what he wants he only sees Hunter as a ticket to more money and Hunter just wants to enjoy the thing that made him happy so when he returns early from a training camp to surprise his girlfriend of 3 years he isn’t prepared for her betrayal. Hunter finds her in the arms of another guy, a guy that was his best friend and teammate now he just sees them for what they truly are and that’s fake people who only care about themselves. Hunter’s confidence takes a hit, but not a major one he just feels like no one sees him for who he truly is until a confidence boosting app leads him to a conversation with someone that makes him smile again. Selena is this gorgeous girl that struggles with things all women do and sometimes those insecurities can get the best of us. She doesn’t realize how beautiful she truly is so when she goes to this app and starts to talk with this guy who makes her feel seen things turn into more. They form a bond where they can open and be themselves while making each other happy in other ways, yet what they don’t now is the surprise that’s coming. I don’t want to give a lot away because this story is such a beautiful about finding self-confidence and others that build you up not down that the readers should enjoy every high and every low. Selena may not have seen herself as strong and confident, but I saw her that way in everyday thing she did form loving her family to supporting others and Hunter he was this arrogant playboy he had a heart of gold that he was willing to share with Selena if she lets him, but will their insecurities get the better of them before things can take off? Truly a beautiful story.… (more)
