I thought this was adorable and funny. After a new owner takes over the PR firm Ellie works at, the new owner decides the new direction for the company is to be very environmentally conscious and friendly - it's a crusade for him really. So our MC, Ellie, also takes on that crusade - in a effort to keep her job.

But along the way she makes mistakes, sure, but most of them are really telling small lies and getting backed in to a corner. It also means, however, that she learns a lot as well - about how to be more environmentally conscious. Sure, the story was silly at times and there were a few times I cringe and chuckled, but this was the perfect, light, up-beat cute story I needed when I picked it up. So glad I gave it a try!

An e-ARC was provided to me by [a:Nick Spalding|4037468|Nick Spalding|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1505743572p2/4037468.jpg] and Lake Union publishing via Netgalley. This does not affect my opinion regarding the book.

This was quite a story....stretching on, and on, and ON....the ten years worth of grieving had so many different developments/challenges....which is why it was possible to keep reading to see....what was going to possibly happen! Nice ending.

My first Amazon First Reads and what a great way to discover new authors. Although he’s written lots of other novels I’d never come across Nick Spalding before but I have now!
Meeting by chance at the gravesides of their respective loved ones where Alice is mourning the loss of her husband, best friend and soulmate and Ben is mourning the loss of his hero and practical joker older brother in a Kermit costume of deceased Harry’s choice the pair strike up an unconventional friendship meeting same place, same time every year to compare and share challenges set, milestones reached and progress made.
Narrated by Ben and Alice in turn, Grave Talk switches seamlessly between comedy gold and the depths of despair. From Rodney Trotter-esque caped crusaders, ice cream cart face plants and squished tins of Spam to heartbreaking struggles with guilt, inferiority and worthlessness.
From knickers-around-ankles moments in the Australian outback, Mr Jobber the evil kookaburra and side-splitting stalker Joyce Parrot to crippling loneliness, emptiness and an inability to move on.
Grave Talk is a unique take on grief and the grieving process.
