My sincere thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read Sunny Sundays at Primrose Hall by Jill Steeples. I give my unbiased opinion of it in the following short review.
I did not realize that this book was the fifth book in a series when I started it. While I was able to read it and understand the immediate story being told, I would have enjoyed it more knowing the backstories of some of the recurring characters. For example, one of the main characters named Tom apparently learned he had a younger brother in the previous book and is now working with his brother Jackson at the Primrose Hall. I would have loved to know more about their story because I would have understood their dynamics better. That being said, this was still a nice story about family and friends and how they come together to help one another in tough times. There is a slightly slow burn romance between Tom and Sophie that was cute. Tom's brother Jackson and his fiance Pia also have a significant side story that was also enjoyable even though it was a bit frustrating.
Overall, I liked the story, but I think I need to go back and read at least the book before this one to satisfy my curiosity. I will recommend this book because I loved the characters the author created as well as her writing style. I will encourage readers to begin with earlier books in the series.… (more)
Thanks so much to the publishers and netgalley for giving me the opportunity to review this book xx
I loved the cover of this book as soon as I saw it, its not very often one sees a black cover that looks nice and Christmassy too. This was a comfortable read with a nice little village pub. The characters were a good bunch and the story had a feel good vibe to it. There was nothing in this book that could upset anyone whatsoever. I found it to be a quick read and enjoyable throughout
This was such a fun and refreshing read! This is one of those books that you pick up when you need a pick me up and a break from the world! The story takes place in Primrose Woods but you don't get to know just a couple people you get to follow along as a few people find their own second chance! But the characters are all easy to relate to! Really a sweet and charming story! With wonderful characters and a heartwarming story you can't help but get lost in the pages!
Pubday Book Review…When We Meet Again by Jill Steeples
Alice Fletcher doesn’t like to take chances and she certainly doesn’t believe in fate. But fate has other plans.
One day while driving home Alice comes across a man, dazed and lost, by the side of a wrecked car. And with no one else around, Alice goes to help.
TV star Jimmy Mack is riding the crest of the career wave one minute, and the next he’s staring at his crashed car. But when Alice comes to rescue him, things start to look up.
What Alice and Jimmy discover next changes everything. Fate might have marked them out for each other, but somehow their destinies have got tangled. Will they get their happily-ever-after, or might their time together be shorter than either of them would hope…
When We Meet Again is wonderful story about finding your soul mate! The story is very uplifting and funny but it has its sad moments as well. It will definitely have you laughing and crying! The characters are engaging and entertaining. I especially enjoyed seeing Alice's character change and learn that it was ok to be happy! It's one of those books you lay back and read on a cozy day off and just have some fun and a good time! Nice read!
