Well, I found this book really depressing. Normally, that's ok, but it didn't have much else going on besides being depressing. I enjoyed maybe the last quarter of the book, which is honestly the only reason I gave it 3 stars. Just... depressing.

I love books that inspire imagination, like [b:Not a Stick|2079076|Not a Stick|Antoinette Portis|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1347930466l/2079076._SX50_.jpg|2084348] and [b:Christina Katerina & the Box|875035|Christina Katerina & the Box|Patricia Lee Gauch|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1310138645l/875035._SX50_.jpg|860378]. One problem I had with it is that the illustrations promised delightful details, but when I squinted, there was nothing special to see. It's probably just me, though, so try it for yourself if you're interested.… (more)

Not my usual fare, but my (new) IRL library hosts an online book club here on GR so I'm going to give it a try.
....
Ah, no, I really disliked these ppl and their so-called problems. I'm considering her new book but am leaning towards no (All Adults Here).

Good Housekeeping says it's 'heartwarming.' I'm kinda getting a vibe of Anne Tyler here, small stories, focus on r'ships esp. within families, quotable & discussable, relevant but not too intense.... Is that true? I don't know whether to try this or not.
