The production of this book is of the highest quality - the binding, the paper, the layout and the reproductions are examplary.

The book presents Japanese prints which Van Gogh owned. It is almost immediately apparent that Van Gogh was much influenced by these prints. It is one thing to encounter this as a written statement, which one does, but this cannot illustrate the point as convincingly as seeing these prints, which as I say, are flawlessly reproduced.
