Owls are supposed to have good vision, but Ollie wears glasses, so what's his superpower? And Bea the bunny is embarrassed about her huge feet.

This kind team of superheroes appears in three more books (to date): Squeals on Wheels, Bats What Friends Are For, and Wise-Quackers. Puns abound. Perfect graphic novel early reader!

Yay for counting books with wombats. Even more yay for counting books with a wombat surrounded and pestered by a host of native australian birds... wombats and frogmouths, best combination ever.

read as a judge for Aurealis awards for 2019

this worked for me at multiple levels - as a relatively easy reading kids books, and as an adult. I loved the intro to the characters, the world building, the characterisation, the not-so-subtle clues as to what was happning.

A wombat settles down to sleep in the morning, and is interrupted by a parade of Australian animals and birds, counting/rhyming. Delicate, detailed pen and ink drawings with some background color washes.
