This is a beautiful book. It has a dust cover that unfolds into a map, and while I usually remove the dust cover of hard bound books I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the cover. I'm always disappointed when a dust cover is prettier than the actual book.

I liked the book very much. It gives an overview of the history of each "lost" state. There are plenty of maps to reference while reading. While this book doesn't delve deeply it did make me want to do some further research of my own to find out more. It is a quick, fun read.… (more)

Good collection of interesting stories concerning the historical quirks of our country's expansion (and sometime tension). Quick read, with plenty of maps. Recommended for lovers of history and American politics.
