This was alright. Enjoyable enough, but a bit bland. Although set in the X-Ops world, it doesn't really interact with the main plotline or characters beyond Kendra, mentions about John and a brief appearance of John, Landon and Ivy. Instead there's a completely separate storyline about DCO agent Eden Bristol who investigates when the groom and best man of her sister's wedding are attacked by wolf shifters. The plot was alright. Eden and Travis were fine - just kind of plain. More cardboard cutouts than lifelike characters. But it wasn't hard to read and the plot made sense. 2.5 stars.… (more)

Really liked the premise of this series; a group of werewolves as a SWAT team with super strength and recovery abilities. Particularly liked the hero, Gage, who is the alpha leader and who has gathered this band of loners into a pack with a purpose. Did not like the heroine, Mackenzie, a reporter that not only will lie and compromise her morals for a story, but puts herself in dangerous situations that compromise others. The story takes place over a fairly short period of time, but there are several hostage situations in that time frame. No city has that many events in need of a SWAT team in that amount of time. Despite problems I will read another in the series, hoping for a more worthy heroine.… (more)

Talk about being in the right place at the right time. Hayley is very lucky that Chasen and his SEAL team were able to rescue her from a dangerous situation. I felt the instant connection that Chasen and Hayley shared.

I like that Chasen was already "all in" by the first date. You could say that he was smitten by Hayley. The feeling is mutual. Hayley and Chasen sure spiced things up with their movie date in the park! What I liked the most is that they both respected each other's professions and that they both traveled a lot for their jobs.

I will check out the next book in this series as I want to see the rest of Chasen's SEAL team find their love matches.… (more)
