| Description | Franz Karl Ludwig Steinmeyer (15 November 1811- 2 May 1900) was a German Protestant pastor and full professor of theology at the Humboldt University in Berlin. Steinmeyer first worked as a clergyman of the Protestant church in the community of Kulm and Berlin, and then entered the academic teaching service as a full professor of practical theology. He consistently represented an Lutheran theology which was directed against dogmatism as well as against any rationalism, and was a supporter of Hengstenberg.
