Caramellunacy: 4th in a series featuring Jane Austen as a sleuth - the conceit is that these are edited detective diaries Jane kept (with clarifying footnotes). This one features a perplexing murder at a racecourse, a possible French invasion and an overly charming landscape artist.

Caramellunacy: Jane travels to England for three weeks for an immersive Jane Austen experience.

Caramellunacy: A YA re-telling of P&P - in which Lizzie Bennet seeks to be a solicitor in her father's law firm and runs into the young, ambitious Mr Darcy while attempting to prove Mr. Bingley innocent of murder. This felt considerably more Dickensian than it did Austen-esque, but fun.

Chelsea_K: This is a great Georgiana Story.

Caramellunacy: A retelling of Pride & Prejudice that has a good dash of Legally Blonde. Elizabeth is a high-powered lawyer, Darcy a judge whom she appears before. I really enjoyed this.

Caramellunacy: A modernized chicklit version of Pride & Prejudice with the added conceit of the main characters also performing in a play of Pride & Prejudice. Harry Noble (theatre royalty) is directing and Jasmin Field (women's magazine columnist) lands the part of Elizabeth Bennett. Rather fun, though a tad *too* predictable as most of the characters in the book play their counterparts in the play - thus lending a bit too much meta...

Caramellunacy: Contemporary Persuasion retelling with Susan Napier (Anne Elliot) and Chris (Wentworth) now competing chefs in Edinburgh. A bittersweet novel that could have used a bit more levity, but the setting is great.

Caramellunacy: A retelling of Mansfield Park set at a high school summer drama program. Franny Pearsson takes a summer internship as a wardrobe/costume assistant helping her aunt who works at Mansfield College's drama program. Her middle school best friend Julia and her brother Alex (whom Franny has long had a crush on) are acting in the program, and handsome Harry Cartwright (a consummate flirt) soon sets his sights on Franny.

Caramellunacy: A contemporary re-telling of Emma sort of smooshed with P&P. The second in a series - Emma Bennet applies for their small country home to be featured on reality TV renovation show Mind Your Manors. Mr. Elton is (hilariously) a pug. The author nails Emma's self-centredness and inability to mind her own business, but doesn't provide the off-setting kindness or redeeming qualities making this a less than stellar reworking.

Chelsea_K: This story gives a new perspective on Caroline Bingley and shows her in a better light.

Caramellunacy: A Sense & Sensibility contemporary re-telling set in Austin, where the Marianne character is aiming to open a tea shop.

Caramellunacy: A Sense & Sensibility meets Taming of the Shrew meets Midsummer meets Bridgerton - a teen casting camp for a Bridgerton-esque Regency murder drama.

Caramellunacy: Jane Austen comes forward in time to Bath and is taken in by an actress struggling to reconcile with the fact that she is no longer cast as the ingenue in the latest adaptation of Northanger Abbey. Jane is falling for the actress' brother, but must choose between her writing and love.

Chelsea_K: I loved Mr. Collins in this story and how Leenie Brown brings his character into a positive light.

Caramellunacy: Darcy & Elizabeth's son Jonathan and young Juliet Tilney are the only two above suspicion when Mr. Wickham is murdered at Emma's house party. These two investigate the main characters from Austen's novels (and everyone has a reason to want Wickham dead).

Caramellunacy: A retelling of Emma set in NYC at an expensive prep school. Gigi Wong has overprotective parents, a planned career as a matchmaker and a love of programming/coding. When her mentee Etta becomes a scholarship student at her high school and struggles to make friends, Gigi creates a friend-matching app.

Caramellunacy: A retelling of Pride & Prejudice set in Chinatown in Houston and specifically surrounding a baking competition that the main character's mother uses as a dating show for Asian suitors for her.

Caramellunacy: Feeling overlooked in her large family of high-flyers, Marnie Barnes focuses on her academics and winning her school's prestigious Hunt Prize in an attempt to outshine her sisters, and on her crush on Hayworth Wellesley. But an argument with her roommate reveals that Marnie has more in common with the priggish Mary Bennet than a sparkling protagonist, and Marnie vows to change.

Chelsea_K: This story provides Henry Crawford from Mansfield Park a chance to redeem himself.
