- About My Library
- This is a very special and intimate collection of books donated to the MFA program by Ray Lifchez, in honor of his late wife, Judith Stronach.
Judith Stronach (1943-2002) was a cherished poet and a noted philanthropist; she was devoted to causes championing Human Rights and served on the Executive Board Member of Amnesty International.
Some of these books have been integrated into the main SMC library itself; you will recognize them by a book plate inside the cover of each indicating that they are from the collection of Judith Lee Stronach. In addition, there are over 200 volumes in the MFA director's office, available to be checked out for a semester's time. There is a sign out sheet in the office, so please feel free to stop by any time during office hours, even on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday throughout the summer, to browse through the books or simply to see the glorious titles.
Please see our other account for more books from the Stronach collection: http://www.librarything.com/profile/MFAWritingSMC2, as well as this account for the collection in the program coordinator's office: http://www.librarything.com/profile/MFASMC. - Location
