- About My Library
My online listings are a virtual library of books that I've read, most of which reside in my home library. A minority are books I've not finished. Outside of fiction (and I love the classics!), areas of special interest include evolutionary biology and the history of science -- especially, "Darwiniana" (Darwin, Huxley, Wallace, etc.). However, I also like to read world history, politics, and biography. In addition, in the realm of fiction I have idiosyncratic interests in the writers Jane Austen, Somerset Maugham, and Franz Kafka, and in bygone decades, in Booth Tarkington and Sinclair Lewis.
Books are rated within their genres (since to do otherwise would be to compare everything to William Shakespeare and Charles Darwin). Listed dates usually indicate date of publication of the original work (not the edition).
