- This book got 2 stars for me. I chose this book because we live in a state with endless trails to explore and hike. The illustrations were actually real pictures of people and children hiking. (1), This book is charming. It is about a famous Chinese painter named Wu Daozi. The story begins with Wu Daozi as a child. It then progresses through his life through to his death. The last page of the book talks about how Daozi’s legend is that he never tr (1), This was a delightful book. It’s about a bird that is tired of singing the same song. So she decided to say things that ended in oodle. It was hilarious because the other birds were annoyed. They just kept singing their same old songs. The crow sang caw (1), the pigeon sang coo (1), and the red bird sang chirp. By the end of the story all of the birds were singing to a different tune. Then illustrations added to the value of the book. The colors were soft and mixed beautifully to bring the birds to life. This book teaches that you do (1), This is a wonderful story that is based on a real “knit-In” that took place in Central Park in 1918. I found this story to be informational. I never heard of a knit-in. It seems schools teach more about World War II than the First World War. The illus (1)
