Summary:
A story of a house cat named Slipper a female cat. Mrs. Fluffy Slippers was slipper’s owner. Mrs. Slipper’s decided to move out of her house to live with her daughter. During the move they forgot slipper, so slipper was on a journey to find someone to adopt her. At the end of her journey she finds her long lost friend.

Personal Reflection:
Great Illustrations of the story, and what happens some time when family decide to move and forget their animals. How some times animals are able to find their owners. The happy family is reunited with their pet.

Class Room Extension:
1.The book can be used to help children understand what can happen if their animal is left behind, and finds a family that will take care of it.
2.The book can also be used to show how animals are somewhat like humans and have feelings, and also sometimes pick their owners.

This gem of a book was purchased from our recent Winter 2014 Scholastic book fair. I read this to Kindergarten and used the story to teach students how stories have different parts - a beginning, a middle and an end. I ask them first if they enjoy happy endings, and talk about what an "ending" is in a story. The cat in this book gets seperated from her family and her beloved miss fuzzy slippers, but she eventually finds a new owner (shiny shoes girl) who she is willing to adopt. I stop at that point and ask students if they think the book had a happy ending. Then I reveal that the book is not yet over - it turns out the shiny-shoes girl is miss fuzzy slippers' grand daughter! Now that's a happy ending for you! ( )
