I used this book when researching a paper on human adaptation to technological change in college. It was quite useful then, consisting of case studies of 15 instances showing both successful and unsuccessful adaptations. The book is quite dated for this topic now, which has much more relevance in today's society. But it would still be useful and interesting from a historical perspective, if compared against modern-day problems in dealing with technological advances. ( )
