Kitty Katt, her lover, Jeff Martini and the Alpha Team are called to Florida to help figure out what has attached itself to the US spaceship that returned to earth after crashing into something. While trying to figure this out a second plot puts Kitty in the sights of a jealous woman who wants Kitty's old high school boyfriend. Then the whole team is threatened from another front. Nothing is ever quiet where Kitty is. This was a high energy spy action, alien adventure, political conspiracy, humorous romance. A little bit of heart-pumping fun. Love this series. ( )

Koch, Gini. Alien Tango. DAW, 2010. Katherine “Kitty” Katt 2.
Chick lit with sexy aliens and monstrous aliens Kitty calls “fuglies.” When the course of true love gets troubled, you worry that you will never be able to make love in a shower again. All the normal people you know turn out to be aliens. And, oh yes, men’s rooms in bus stations may be teleportation portals. Give Alien Tango three or four stars, depending on how guilty you like your pleasures. ( )

Alien Tango was jam packed with storylines, but not to the point where it was overwhelming or confusing. We've still got Jeff and Kitty's romance going on, we've got a threat to the A-Cs on Earth, we've got a stalker situation, we've got dirty politicians, and let's round it all off with several people competing for Kitty's attention and affection! Everything is so fast paced, there is never a dull or boring moment in this book. And OH, lest I forget, a High School reunion too??? Of course, if you've read the first book I can't imagine not having moved on to the second, but if you're putting it off for whatever reason??? Stop! I can't wait to get started on book 3. ( )

We're six months past when Kitty joined the A-C's and she's learned how to fly. Kind of makes sense since she's the Airborne Commander. ;-) Something weird happened on a manned shuttle and the Alpha Team is sent to Florida. Small hitch, they have to fly there not gate there. Plus its Kitty's 10 year high school reunion and Jeff wants to go. We get Brian the guy who popped her cherry, who is now an astronaut and Chuckie the best friend from 9th grade all enter the picture. Throw in getting to meet Jeff's parents and Kitty's having lots of fun! ( )

I have to start out with, I HEART KITTY. She is a kick-ass women and any of these alien hotties would be lucky to have her...it just so happens that Martini is that lucky. Not that he isn't cool as well but I have a thing for sulky Christopher. *sigh* I also have to say that this book didn't hold me in it's thrall like the first in this series, that is not to say that it is not a great story just that I wasn't glued to the pages of the book like I was the first one.

I love the fierceness that Kitty has in this book. She is way more in command (not that she wasn't in the last). I love how the action starts almost automatically and I love the fact that there are so STEAMY sensual scenes smattered through out the book. Can't go wrong with hot sex during a sci-fi book. I enjoy the wit that Ms. Koch instills in her work, it makes me laugh, it makes me think, and it makes me smile as I read. Those are all A s for me.

There is one character we meet toward the end, that we have heard so much about but had yet to meet. I heart him and I am glad we got to meet him. That is all I have to say there. I enjoyed this book and look forward to many more wonderful stories from Ms. Koch. ( )

This series is a vacation from serious thought. All the men seem equally (flawlessly) gorgeous, and the only true conflict is external/fighting the bad guys. If you're looking for some (very) lighthearted paranormal romance in between dips in the pool, this could be your poison.

TLDR: I enjoyed this one more than the last. I give it 4 stars.

Alien Tango is an action packed, hilarious, romantic read. Who said Alien's can't be totally droll worthy?
The Alien series (aka the Katherine 'Kitty' Katt series) is one of my favorite fun series to pass time with.

This time, we join Kitty and the gang a few months after the event of Touched by an Alien. Kitty and Jeff are happily dating, the super-being threat is subsiding, and everything is going rather smoothly - if you ignore the fact Jeff's parents apparently doesn't like her, and that her own mother is still imploring her to "consider her other options".

That is, until a spacecraft, mysteriously lands back on the exact same place it flew from. Cue in: action, life-threatening situations, schemes and crazies. Yep, Kitty's life are still as exciting as ever!

Now, considering the detailed character descriptions I did for the first book's review, I will not be repeating that and instead I'm going to introduce to you guys the new characters we meet.

First and foremost we've got ACE...

Old review:
I loved this one a lot more than Touched by an Alien, mostly because I felt it was much more believable.
Kitty still manages to both figure out and solve most of the crisis (which I still love because it is such a win for females all over the world, even though it was hard to relate to in the first book because she was just always right, and it seemed a bit too perfect) but she's been doing this for half a year now, so it was believable (even when I knew she was like that from the start, as unreal as it appeared to me). Also, she also showed some weakness, and plenty of emotions that lacked in the first book and had my heart clenching and my teeth biting my nails.
I almost cried at one point of the story, with all that happened with Jeff. And again, I was happy no other man was actually an option for Kitty. Sure, she contemplated, but she was heartbroken and trying not to think about the death that is coming her way. It was never really an option, she knew she loved Jeff, and I loved that we didn't veer into a love-triangle. Truly and passionately hate those.
So, I loved this part of the story. I loved Jeff so much, I wish Reader was straight so I could have him and all the supporting characters (other than the icky bad guys) were just freaking awesome. I can't wait to see them marry, and again I loved how this book openly mentions the holocaust and the Jews and is against that.
There was a lot more I loved, but I'm wiped out from reading till midnight, so I'll stop here. I may or may not be back to edit this later. ( )

I really enjoyed this book, however, there were two main sticking points.

1 - I find it annoying that Kitty is the only one able to come up with ideas, think outside the box, and figure things out. For a super smart race, they seem to have issues thinking on their own.

2 - Jeff's jealousy is no longer flattering. The fact that Kitty has to constantly soothe Jeff's fragile ego is annoying. How many times does Kitty have to apologize? ( )

Pure fluff, but loads of fun! Kitty and Jeff are becoming a couple, we get to meet the family, meet ACE, bad guys get in the way. But fun! ( )

Every bit as fun as [bc:Touched by an Alien|7283762|Touched by an Alien (Katherine "Kitty" Katt, #1)|Gini Koch|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1277088475s/7283762.jpg|8498290]! (It says "expected publication April 5, 2011" which is pretty specific if you ask me! I know from reading other authors' blogs, though, that these dates can get changed at the last minute, so as much as I want it, I'm not holding my breath.) ( )

Light-hearted, well paced and humorous. It manages to combine benevolent, super-powered aliens exiled to Earth with themes of domestic terrorism, xenophobia, interracial and interfaith dating, and the ways in which loving families can be unintentionally cruel. And it all makes sense and is fun, which is the lovely thing about this series.

There were a few scenes towards the end that I didn't care for--the scene with Chuckie at the reunion seemed unnecessary and the scene with Reid was unexpectedly gross. Fortunately, neither lasted very long.

Overall, though, I really enjoyed reading this and am looking forward to the next one. ( )

Where ever do I start? I can always tell when I’m really enjoying a book because I don’t have a lot of notes written down. Yes, I’m one of those readers. Well, if you could see my notes page, you would either go “What the bleep?” or laugh at how ridiculous it is that I take notes. Ok, let me make my point.

See, not a whole lot to go on. Which me brings me back to my point: Gini Koch knows how to deliver one hell of an entertaining read. And If you couldn’t tell by the title of this post, this book delivers laughs of ginormous proportions. I think I scared my cats a time or two from the abrupt cacophony of guffaws known as my laugh. Did I really just write that sentence? I found the humor to be better than the first book, which was hard to top, people!

There is so much happening in this book! Kitty is faced with not-so-crazy-about-her soon-to-be in-laws, which proves to be hilarious. However, Kitty doesn’t take shit from anyone, and she shuts up an entire house full of A-Cs. She commands respect and it’s one of her best qualities. She also dodges a murderous stalker and two alligators who Kitty aptly names Gigantigator and Alliflash! A couple of Kitty’s ex-boyfriends add drama to her love life, and she confronts tradition in the name of individual rights. Plus a whole lot more. Overall, I loved the outcome of all of these plotlines, as well as the addition of new characters. ACE is pretty amazing and I look forward to his role in future books.

I loved that Gini wove real-life issues into this story, such as arranged marriages and marrying someone of a different race / culture / religion. It’s hard to remember the difficulties that Jeff and Kitty face as a couple because they are so perfect for each other, but their relationship has never been easy, and it’s mainly due to outside influence. If it were up to them, I think they’d spend 90% of their time in the shower together, and 10% kicking ass and taking names.

I love Gini Koch’s “voice” as an author. Her work is an absolute joy to read, not just because she is hysterical, but because when I read her books, I feel like I’m getting to know her personally. And let me tell you, I would definitely enjoy a drink or two with this woman. It would turn into a party before happy hour was over! ( )

Things are going great for Kitty and Martini. Work is good, their relationship is good, Jeff just won't let Kitty meet his family. Oh, and it's against his religion to marry a human. Kitty isn't in a hurry to marry, she can be patient. Unfortunately, Martini's parents aren't willing to give them the time. There's also some pressure on the government to use the A-C's as weapons (one step away from slavery). In the midst of this, a NASA space shuttle is returned to earth - right back to it's launching pad- and something is in the astronaut. The alpha team agrees to go to NASA to help out, but their trip is tangled by human politics, an anti-alien hate group, and strained family relations.

I liked Touched By An Alien, but Kitty kind of got on my nerves in Alien Tango. For someone who isn't as good looking as the Dazzlers (the A-C women), she seems to have almost every male falling over themselves for her. It got old. And dude!, she and Martini have had sex in almost every airport in the world. These two have sex all the time. Great, I'm happy for you, but when do you find time to do anything else? There was also one bit close to the end when things are going badly and I kept thinking if I could figure out what was wrong, Kitty should also. Sorry that's not very descriptive, I'm trying hard to leave out spoilers. It's not a long list of complaints, but these negatives have colored my feelings toward Alien Tango.

But it's not all doom and gloom people, there were things I like. The humor, as usual, was great - pop culture laden quirkiness at its best. Jeff Martini continues to get better. I felt bad that he and his family had this huge disconnect. It's quickly and realistically explained why Jeff has a hard time figuring out his family, and while I sympathize with the Martini clan, they've had almost 30 years to figure things out and they couldn't do it. I hope to see more of this evolving relationship in book 3, Alien In The Family. There were a lot of things going on in this book, but it wasn't hard to keep track of the different plot threads. The plot twists were pretty good, though one resolution seemed a bit silly (i.e. Gower). And boy, Koch can write a great crazy lady (I'm hoping this is not from experience). We also get lots of Reader, I love him, and Christopher is a much more likable character this go around. There's also a scene towards the end where Kitty is by herself with the bad guy and things are going badly. I felt this had the right amount of "heaviness" for such a humorous book.

Oh, and another plus, Martini looks so much better in this cover (but what happened to Kitty's hair color?).

Verdict:
Once again Koch has delivered a fast paced story with great humor and well explained science fiction elements. I still think this is a great series for those who don't typically read science fiction but want to try it out. The sci-fi elements are not overwhelming and flow well with the story - it doesn't get tedious. It also has humor, romance, action, and mystery, a little something for everyone. Unfortunately, what sticks the most with me is how tired I got of all these different guys being in love with Kitty (and arguing over her). And to be fair, it wasn't every male character, but it did start to feel like that after awhile.
I liked Touched By An Alien better, and I will still be buying Alien In The Family, but I give Alien Tango 3 out of 6 stars. ( )
