My favorite book in this series. I loved them all but this one took the cake. Who doesn't just love a ball of fire. I would recommend. ( )

third in McKettrick Cowboys trilogy; Jeb marries Chloe in Tombstone, then believes she's already married and lights out for home. Chloe comes into town grieving the death of her uncle/father and finds her disappearing husband - and the fireworks of misunderstandings begin ( )

Jeb has been on the run from Chloe since the day he married her and a man approached him with proof she was married. While Jeb tries to claim they aren't really wed his actions don't follow through. Chloe is full of fire and righteous fury as Jeb's refusal to talk to her about it and throw accusations instead. More weaving of the other McKettrick characters and introducing some new. Was okay read.

It's Jeb's turn to find a bride, although he claims he already has one. The sparks really fly when she shows up in town! Jeb thinks Chloe's already married, and that their marriage is a sham. Even though neither trusts the other, and both are spitting mad, they can't help but be attracted to each other.
I'm not a huge fan of the issues keeping would-be lovers apart being lies and misunderstandings. I'd rather there's an outside conflict, although this does have both. Chloe's ex, Jack, is set to rile things up as well, and he's a bit murderous. Also nice was the addition of Holt's daughter Lizzie, a little spitfire. I kind of hope Miller writes a book about her as well. ( )

First thought when Finished: Favorite of the series for me!

I really loved Jeb and Chloe! They were just two of the most hard-headed, stubborn, funny, and delightful characters that I have read. I wasn't even sure who had me shaking my head the most. Though really it was Lizzy-beth that sold the book to me. She was a delightful child that spoke her mind and made me really warm up to Angus (the father of the McKettrick Boys)!

Final Thought: I really enjoyed this series! Great job LLM!
