John Patrick Norman McHennessy comes to school and tells the teacher something that would be hard to believe so he never believes it...until he is in that situation. This book is great to teach students about treating others how they want to be treated. I believe 4-8 year old children would be the perfect age to read this book and I would ask about when something like this had happened to them and how they would handle this situation This book was about a young boy who was always late for school due to some unbelievable reason that his teacher never believed. Then in a twist of events one day he is on-time but his teacher is late due to an unbelievable reason and John doesn't believe his teacher. I liked this book because it is kind of humorous and it would be a good prediction story for the classroom. I think this book would be best for grades 2nd or 3rd. In this book, John Patrick Norman always has the strangest and most improbable things happen to him on the way to school. When he gets to school his teacher, Sir, never believes his crazy stories that are actually true. To punish him, he makes John Patrick norman write hundreds of times, "I must not tell lies. Sir gets confused when one day he gets to school on time. The Boy Who Was Always Late is about John Patrick Norman McHennessy who is a boy who always has strange things happen to him everyday but his teacher never believes him when he says why he is late. I liked this book because it was humorous and is a fun book to read to little kids. The ages/grade levels I would use this for are 3-7/preschool-2nd grade. This is a story about this boy named John Patrick Norman McHennessy who is always late for school. on the way to school, he always encountered with some accidents that his teacher would not believe him. I love this book. It is a great book to educate students and adults that it is important to believe others or find out the answer if you think it needs to be clarified. This is a good read for 3rd, 4th, and adults. This is a book about a boy who is always late for school for many different extraordinary reasons. The boy gets in trouble every time and each time his teacher doesn't believe him. One day nothing happens to the boy but something finally happens to the teacher. This book is a good one for kids because it is very funny. Grades 1-4. This book is about a boy who on his way to school something happens to him that makes him late for school. The boy then gets a consequence each time because the teacher does not believe his excuses. One day finally though nothing happens to the boy, but when he arrives to school something had happened to his teacher but John Patrick Norman McHennessy told his teacher he didn't believe him and went on his way. This book might be my one of my favorites so far. It shows kids about honesty and still has good humor. I think this book would be for K-4 grade or so. This story is about a young boy who is, obviously, always late to school. I like this book because it is so imaginative and creative and would use it in my classroom as a book the students could read during silent reading time. This book is suitable for grade 2 and 3 and the main theme is truthfulness. This book is about a boy who is always late because something always stop him in his way school. His teacher doesn't believe his excuses and asks him to write down his lies hundreds of times. At last he arrives school on time but his teacher is in trouble. I like this interesting story and it tells the students to be honest and trust others. The boy is always late because something causes him to wait (ex. lion, tidal wave ect.) His teacher yells at him for being late and losing his glove, his clothes being wet, etc. The teacher than makes him write down his lies, 300, 400, 500 etc. times. At last nothing happened and he was on time to see his teacher in trouble by an animal. I would use this book because it shows how you should listen to others because the same thing may happen to yourself. This book would be enjoyable for all elementary, but especially for grades 2-3. This book has a good word in it "Satchel". The boy was always late because on his way to school something always happened to him and his teacher never believed him, so he always got punished at school. At the end of the book his teacher gets caught by a gorilla and asks for help from the student and the boy said I do not believe you and kept going to school. This is a good book for grades 1st-3rd. I would use this book in my classroom because it shows that sometimes you have to believe someone even though you do not think that it is true. This book is about a boy who is always late to class and gets caught in the most random and all sorts of different types of things. His teacher never believes him and is always punishing him until one day he showed up to class on time but his teacher didn't because he was caught up with a gorilla. This book was a good book because it took us on an adventure and was fun to read. The grade level for this would be between 2-4th grade. "John Patrick Norman McHennessy, The Boy Who Was Always Late" is about a boy who is late to class almost everyday for one extravagant reason or another. When he walks in late his teacher never believes him and makes him write or stay after class as punishment. On the day that John Patrick Norman McHennessy is on time, his teacher is trapped by a giant gorilla and asks for his help but JPNM just tells him that it cannot be real and ignores him. I would use this book to show the use of imagination and just as a fun spontaneous book. It was a very good read even as an adult. Recommended age group: 5-8 years This book is about a boy who is always late to school. He tries explaining to his teacher why he is late but his teacher never believes him. Everday that John Patrick Norman McHennessy is late to school, his teacher punishes him. One day when the teacher comes across an incident that made him late to school he finally believed him. A boy hurried down the road to learn, but different things made him late and when he told the teacher what happened he didn't believe him. He made the boy write it down 300 times, out loud 400 times, write it down 500 times, and then the boy was on time. The day that the boy was on time the teacher got held back by a hairy gorilla. This is a fun book to read in all elementary grade levels because it shows that even teachers make mistakes. Sometimes things happen, but that doesn't mean that they can't be fixed. Everyone makes mistakes! This book is about a young boy who is always late to school because of odd circumstances, but it ends with a surprise ending. It is aimed at older elementary as it has several challenging words and gives a look into how schools used to be run. This book is great for giving a look at how schools used to be, as well as providing a challenge for the reader. |
