They go on a mission told by the magician, Merlin. The purpose of the mission is to retrieve the “sword of light.” There are riddles and obstacles on the way to find the sword. Their bravery is put to the test on this adventure because on the way they meet the so called sea serpent, which will have the sword they are looking for. The sea serpent and other creatures are out because it is the time for the summer solstice! The central message of this story, like any adventure story, is to always be brave and to achieve what you want you need to work for it. This book is just as great as the other Magic Treehouse books. This novel is a great stepping-stone from easy chapter books to longer chapter books. Jack and Annie are good role models who are relatable and easy to love. I think the magical aspect of this book is exciting and engaging without being scary, which makes this book age appropriate for its _target audience. FANTASY: This book contains many magical elements throughout. This book is about jack and Annie going on another adventure this time in the summer solace. They find a note in there previously lost magic tree house. The note said to retrieve the sword of light before the Sun goes down or the king will meet his end. So they go on there journey and find many things to out match. Thought something’s seemed a little scary but when you get to know them there are all right. They also got a little help from their friends when things got a little tough and helped them out of many situations. After they got to the sword of light they had to answer a question from the Giant Serpent that guarded it form the unworthy. They got the sword and used it to find their way back home just before the sun set. |
