Loading... My Bossy Dolly (edition 2006)by Steve Metzger (Author)Summary: This is about a little girl who has a dolly that looks just like her. However her dolly is mean and rude and says things that she would never say. They go through a normal day in this girl and her dolls life and you see all the ways her doll is bossy towards everyone else. Personal Reaction: I really don't like this book. I would probably never read it in class nor to my children. I don't know why i dislike it so much other than the child acting bratty and blaming it on the doll. However, the story is written very well and the illustrations are very nice. Classroom Extension Ideas: 1. Teach a lesson on not always getting what you want and manners 2. Teach about not blaming others The story of a little girl's misbehaving doll will intrest children. The entire text is written in rhyme and will help build children's phonemic awareness. Children will enjoy reading about the bossy dolly's tantrums and will enjoy discussing if the doll or little girl is actually the one acting so badly. |
