Loading... Too Pretty To Live: The Catfishing Murders of East Tennessee (edition 2016)by Dennis Brooks3.75 I was already familiar with this case before reading this, but the glimpse I was given was never in depth. Dennis Brooks did a good job of laying down the facts of the case. I listened to this on audiobook and, unlike many people I have seen review this, I didn't feel confused at all by the emails being read aloud. I feel that without those emails you didn't get a glimpse of both the absurdity, manipulation (and dare I say lack of intelligence) that caused this senseless crime to be set in motion. I also found it fairly easy to follow, even though those composing these messages lacked education (for lack of a better way of putting it). I was a little put off by the slight hint of misogyny I felt coming off of the prosecuting attorney (author) in this case, but aside from that, the book was done as well as can be expected from a man whose first job is not that of a writer. |
