Great series

Great series that held true thru the third book! We have seen the untrained but super magical H who has to learn about her powers before, but this one has two wards she is raising, and that gives the story much more heart. Add a sexy demigod, irreverent banter and crazy side kicks, and you'll be entertained. ( )

The saga continues. The love between Kieran and Alexis continues to grow. Alexis and the kids continue to train with Kieran, Bria, and The Six. But they have their toughest battle yet when they have to go against Kieran's father. Lots of action and romance in this one. And it moves the whole overall story nicely. ( )

KF Breene is quickly becoming one of my favorite paranormal writers. This opened with some crazy paranormal training as Lexi works to hone her ghostly defensive skills against Kieren’s men… with scary results! Kieran’s dad, the demigod of San Francisco, is onto them, and has figured out Lexi is more than they’re passing her off to be, and worse, Kieran has received some news about Lexi’s past that puts her in even greater peril. Things are heating up!

But the best scenes of all for me continue to be the ones with Lexi and her teenage children/wards Daisy and Mordecai, the human and werewolf boy she adopted off the street. These three are a snark-fest when they are together and soooo funny. Seeing the family dynamic progress and morph, especially with Kieran and his fears added to the mix? I was on the edge of my seat. Mordecai continues to grow more powerful now that he’s been healed of his shifter disease, and the pack now sees him as a threat. Seeing Lexi in mother bear mode fighting alongside Mordecai? Yes, please. Without getting into spoiling the ending, things ramp up into some really juicy conflict and this goes to quite an interesting place, both for this book AND for where the series could go next. Definitely excited!

Sin & Salvation
Demigods of San Francisco, Book 3

I Picked Up This Book Because: Continue the series.

Media Type: Kindle Digital Book
Source: Kindle Unlimited
Dates Read: 12/8/20 - 1/6/21
Stars: 4

The Characters:

Kieran Drusus:
Alexis “Lexi” Price :
Mordecai, Daisy, Bria, Zorn, Jack, Thane, Donovan, Henry, Boman

The Story:

Lexi and Kieran become closer as they continue to prepare for the battle against Kieran’s father Valens. Valens is slowly but surely figuring out his son is working against him and has to recognize the man his son has become. Watching Lexi grow into her powers is fascinating, she is learning by leaps and bounds. Which is a great thing because battle time comes in the second half of this book. All hands are on deck and all magic is in the air. Kieran had quite a few tricks up his sleeve for this battle but the young wards proved to be some of the best.

The writing was great. The pace worked for me. These characters are part of my heart. (I forgot to mention we get to know The Six just a little bit better in this book.) All and all this was a great addition to the series. I will admit I was worried about where the story would go after the battle however the epilogue soothed that worry… and sparked others.

What a fantastic read, watching Alexis grow into both her magic and her relationship with Kieran. This was just as thrilling as the first two books, and the last half of the book had me completely enraptured until the end. Onto book four! ( )

This was Okay but just average compared to other urban fantasy and SF books I've read. I don't think I'll read anything else by this author. I wanted to read this one because I had read the two earlier books in the series and this was the ending, I thought. I ended up skimming chunks of the book to get through it. I liked a few of the characters but some of the most interesting characters were side characters -- the foster children, the Six and Bria. The hero and heroine, especially the former, were kind of too perfect. ( )
