It starts with Gus, who must buy back a dirt bike from another character, Rossi. The pacing is swift at less than 280 pages. Few scenes are slow, but when they are, they focus on dialogue between the characters such as Gus and Rossi. Additionally, 24 Hours in Nowhere is a contemporary thriller because of the pacing and action scenes. The writing style is accessible for a younger audience because it avoids purple prose but lacks detailed descriptions. Thus, the unique settings were not fully immersive but could have been more descriptive. While most characters are likable, except the antagonist, all lack relatability, depth or development when more could have helped. The exception is Gus, who has simplistic character dynamics with other characters, but that is not enough. The plot flows along because it is linear. There are no flashbacks, but characters discuss past events through dialogue, making 24 Hours in Nowhere more focused and less distracted.
