I have absolutely loved every book in this series until now. This is a good book, don't misunderstand me, but it feels very inert compared to the other books and crawls along. It almost feels like it was the last third of the previous novel, which may have worked better.

Spoilers: the broadcasting of a certain someone's deaths was soooo telegraphed and just clumsy in my opinion. I don't think it had the punch that it should have for various reasons. Like, when I think about the Red Rising series--those deaths hurt. And are often shocking.

Anyway, this is my least favorite so far and even that was well above average and still a fast and fun read. Looking forward to the end of this journey when the next (and last?) book comes out! ( )
