Loading... The Fiery Heart: A Bloodlines Novel (edition 2013)by Richelle Mead (Author)Initial Thoughts I’m obsessed with this series. I can’t get enough of the characters and the world. I’m excited to continue but I’m also nervous that the author will disappoint me. My New BFF I really like Sydney as a main character. I was getting a little tired of seeing though badass, tough female leads. I’m glad Sydney has all her little insecurities and that she’s trying to get through them like the rest of us. It probably doesn’t help being around those perfect vampires all the time. I find she’s a very relatable character, minus the whole magic and vampires thing. She’s been put into a tough situation and I think she’s doing a really good job of turning it around. I’m excited to see what she does next. My Crush It’s impossible not to fall in love with Adrian while reading this book. I think it’s the fact that you can see him fall in love with Sydney and try to adapt to be with her. He knows it’s not going to be easy but he still sticks around. I think that’s pretty brave of him especially since he knows what the alchemists could do. I think all his interactions with Sydney are great. He’s either super cocky and hilarious or he’s 100% in love with her. It’s pretty cute actually. Writing Style I’m loving Richelle Mead’s writing style right now. I loved it in VA but I think I like this series more. I find she’s really good at character development because all her characters have such great personalities. She’s also great at making them feel very realistic. Her plot and world building are also great. There are some things that you’re expecting to happen and they sort of do happen but with tons of extra plot twists. You know exactly who you can trust for sure but then some people you’re nervous about. There’s just so much going on that it’ll keep you entertained for a while. Closing Thoughts I’m obsessing over this series. I’m addicted to Adrian and I want to see what happens to all the characters. I’m hoping for another series once this one is all done. I’m glad I waited until all the books were out so I could binge read them. It was worth it. I’m upset with myself for not reading them sooner though. I think that if you’re tired of all the typical vampire romance stories then maybe you should give this series a try because so far, it hasn’t disappointed. With only two books left to go in the series, I knew to expect to have that devastating moment where I find myself saying "Nooooooo", and will be left with that hard to get over book hangover. I was dreading it and anxious for it at the same time. I know, I must sound like a masochist, but it's the good kind, believe me. A book hangover masochist. What better kind of hangover is there? But I also knew that of course it was going to be great and of course it was. In fact it was amazing, I loved that Richelle Mead decided to give us two perspectives this time around. I love, love hearing from Adrian, he is one of my favorite male leads in a series. I've been rooting for his ultimate HEA since the beginning of the series. Sydney is continuing her journey into the magical world and her and Adrian's relationship is heating up. Adrian is still dealing with the lows and highs of Spirit and wanting to do right by Sydney. Of course having her sister Zoe there doesn't help their secret romance and their already sneaky rendezvous from the others. Towards the end of the book I started to get that anxious here it comes feeling. I knew this chapter of Adrian's and Sydney's relationship wasn't going to end well. So now I'm feeling devastated and can't wait to see what happens next. Things for this series has gotten even more interesting and intense. With a nice little cameo from some of the Vampire Academy gang and Adrian finally getting some respect from them as someone they look to for guidance. The Fiery Heart was the best book of the series so far. The story, writing and familiar characters I can't get enough of has me I ruing the day of it's conclusion. Fiery heart: Spolier Review I really loved this book! It was interesting again to see how much Sydney has grown in this novel and how complex their relationship has become. I also loved seeing how all the side characters were developed in this book. It was a welcome surprise to finally read adrian POV in contrast to Sydney and how they both view the same experiences. The presence of Sydney sister throw the book into a loop and effected the little group in many ways. I was so outrage by the hate that it made me so annoyed but i guess that was kind of the point of the book. I did not see the ending the coming and it was so scary and such a sad ending because Sydney sister utterly betrayed her and i had not idea what the next book was going to be. I really loved the story that was told in the book and was glad i did not have to wait to read silver shadows! Reseña completa:: El Extraño Gato Del Cuento This book was good. After The Indigo Spell I thought maybe this series was going to not hold my interest but the story was good. I liked the switching between point of views. It was interesting to get inside Adrian's head. Rose, Dimitri, and Lissa made a small appearance. It ended very abruptly though. I wanted more not this cliffhanger ending. Gosh, do I love this series. It appeals to me so much more than the Vampire Academy series did and I loved that series. But I just feel this series more. I think it's because I love Sydney and Adrian so much. They are just the perfect couple. Their chemistry is just out of the ballpark. And the words that come out of Adrian's mouth just make me melt. I live for the lines I hear in these audiobooks and the dream that someday I will hear words like that from a man spoken to me. I also love how there isn't a lot of whether or not they will stay together or break up. They are both confident that they will figure something out - - they just have no clue what they will figure out. That's terrific in my book. Also, this series has a terrific cast of side characters. I love Eddie, Jill, Angeline and Trey. I would love to see some of them get their own series. There's an idea for another spinoff series. ;) I really think Emily Schaffer does a great job on the narration of these books. Alden Ford is good also; although, I have to admit I had a hard time getting used to him. This is the first time that dual narrators was used for the series and Mr. Ford's voice changed the voice that had been used for Adrian through both the Vampire Academy series and this series. Plus, Ms. Schaffer changed the voice that she used for Adrian and it took me until halfway through the book to get used to the change. Once I did, I was good with it. Can't wait for the next book as, of course, this book has a huge cliffhanger. This series is amazing!!!! Fiery Hearts starts us back to right after sydney confesses her feelungs for Adrian, and her sister Zoe joins her at the school. Throughout this book sydney is trying to manage her sister, and her relationship, and her newfound friendships. All the while trying to help the moroi with their strigoi problem. And help the alchemist rebellion without being caught. These books has you wanting more, and jumpung with complete highschool giddiness, and with a major cliffhanger that will make you scream, because irs forever for the next book. To read more reviews in this series and others, check out keikii eats books! 80 points/100 (4 ¼ stars/5) Warning: Cliffhanger (Status: Christ, that is just cruel.) Sydney Sage has a problem. She is looking after some moroi vampires, and alchemists are supposed to hate vampires of all kinds. Now she is dating one. And her sister, Zoe, is now on assignment with her. Zoe is gathering data on everything Sydney does and reporting back, like the eager alchemist she is. Sydney now has to keep her comings and goings as normal and not blasphemous as possible, or she may be sent back to reeducation. And somehow has to keep her relationship with Adrian secret. Oh my god what morons. They had this coming. I've complained before that the books in this series tend to be quite predictable. This was the icing on that particular cake. It is so painfully obvious how this book was going to go even from the cliffhanger in the previous book. Morons, the both of them. The main point of the book that isn't to do with Sydney and Adrian's relationship is about a new strigoi that was returned to being a dhampir, and how this may be the clue they needed in order to figure out why others cannot become strigoi a second time. This actually takes up very little time of the entire book, but it leads into more Adrian time. Which is a lot, because this is the first book with Adrian's perspective. Go Adrian! I love you, Adrian. This is such an improvement on the series. I have my issues with it: mostly that I frequently forget just who was talking because I kept forgetting who was the narrator at the moment. Dual first person narratives is a difficult thing to get used to. Yet, I love Adrian's story so, so much. He is determined to become a better person - no smoking, no drinking, and more. I love his story so, so much. It adds a lot, because not as much has to be placed on Sydney's shoulders through the book. It feels more natural. The rest of the book is just plain old relationship drama. Most of the book is Adrian and Sydney being all hot for each other and having to be sneaky. Complete unsurprise, yet still so damn cute. I love these two together. Sydney's sister Zoe is now around as a consequence of Sydney's complaining in the previous book how difficult it was to care for all these moroi and dhampir on her own. Woops, talk about unintended consequences! Yet Zoe just serves as a medium for more relationship drama as well as furthering the series along. Sydney now has to sneak around to do everything she has to do, because her sister is brainwashed and is essentially spying on her every move. Sydney really underestimates her sister here, especially with how unhappy Zoe is the entire time. Gosh Sydney, get it together! This is the fourth book in a six book long series. With the end of this book, we're heading into the final stretch. No more playing around after this, it is time to get serious. I cannot wait. We've had our fun, we've had our side games, I'm ready for the actual plot for the series. You can check out more reviews by me on my blog: YET ANOTHER EDIT** Just to remind everyone of this scene from [b:Indigo Spell|8709526|The Indigo Spell (Bloodlines, #3)|Richelle Mead|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1342146669s/8709526.jpg|13582373] which is where 'Fiery Heart' comes from: "His eyes were on his heart, completely caught up in his work. “Just something kicking around in my head. Reminds me of you. Fiery and sweet, all at the same time. A flame in the dark, lighting my way.”" EDIT* The cover was released! This feel like blasphemy.. But I- I Don't really like it. ... __30/08/2012________________________________________________________ Over & Out, T xx This series is so good. It's well written and paced. The story is engaging from the beginning and kept me interested until the end. The voice actors did a great job with all the different voices and accents. The only thing I didn't like was that in the previous books, Adrian's voice was British and then in this book he was suddenly American. It was a little confusing for the first while. I am glad we got to see Adrian's point of view in this book though. And it ended on a cliffhanger so now I want more! I loved the Love Phones and the escape plans. Those little things, little running jokes, just added such a realness, a down-to-earthness to Sydrian’s relationship that Romitri never had. Not that I’m saying Sydrian isn’t as epic as Romitri, because I think its actually WAY more epic. Something that did bother me at first was Adrian's POV. It felt really abrupt to add in a second POV in what is essentially the 10th book in the series, but I really got into it. It did help that Adrian and Sydney were not always attached at the hip (In different places, doing different things) and there wasn't too much overlap of events either, except when necessary. Also, it helped that there was a differentiation of voice between the two POV's. (To see a dual POV book fail in all above respects, I direct to [b:Allegiant|23473090|Allegiant|Veronica Roth|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1414576901s/23473090.jpg|43064657]) Overall, I think this book was pretty well done and pushed the story forward drastically. The Fiery Heart was the best book of the series so far. The story, writing and familiar characters I can't get enough of has me I ruing the day of it's conclusion. First, I have to get out there that I am so FRUSTRATED that I have to wait for the next book! Now that that's out of the way, I LOVED The Fiery Heart! I love Adrian, I love him and Sydney together. I even love the secrecy of the whole thing as it makes it almost more magical of a relationship. The drama of the story made me SO angry at parts! I can't stand Sydney's dad and I was hoping that Zoe would be more like Sydney by the end of the book. I am excited for the progress that's been made in other areas though. With the Strigoi prevention and with the new tattoos. I can't wait for Silver Shadows! |
