Loading... Narwhal: Unicorn of the Sea! (A Narwhal and Jelly Book #1) (edition 2016)by Ben Clanton (Author)Ok, I've fallen under Clanton's spell. I know it's surprising that I like this, but omg it's so funny. And wise. And adorable. Jellyfish reminds me a fair bit of my 21 yo (youngest) son, especially some of his expressions. I bet boys, and girls, and stoners, and philosophical sophomores all love this. Are you real? Prove it! You can imagine anything.... I was excited about this book when I first found out about it, and it certainly did not disappoint! Narwhal and Jelly and their friends are AWESOME. The whole book is hilarious, I love the style of the illustrations -- this book is just perfect. It's like Elephant-and-Piggie level friendship, only MORE AWESOME. And I didn't think that was possible. This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. Net Galley: Free Preview for Honest ReviewFor a kids comic book, this is actually rather truly delightful. I loved the little friendship, the high quality of support for children's imagination, reading and the learning of new facts. Also of building for yourself, with your friends, that which you might be missing in your life. I definitely know some tiny people in my life who might need this next year after release. Mentioned in a blog post at https://booksbeyondbinaries.blog/2020/07/20/chapter-books-whats-good/ (July 20th release) This is such a sweet series! It is a graphic novel series with simple illustration style, about a little Narwhal who meets other sea creatures. Ben Clanton also includes some facts about the Narwhal and is bestie, the Jellyfish. Such a fun little series, perfect for young readers that are interesting in the ocean and are starting to begin as readers. This is a super cute graphic novel about the friendship between a narwhal and his jellyfish friend. The style of the book reminds me of the pig and elephant stories and the frog and toad books. It is simple to read and is very funny and is enjoyable for children to read. The characters are very lovable and easy to connect with. This would be best for late primary students. |
