An eager Early Bird wants to be a Knight Owl too, but because she is diurnal and Owl is nocturnal, it doesn't work out so well...but when Early Bird calls the other knights to rescue Knight Owl from the wolves in the forest, he realizes that while their sleep schedules are out of sync, Early Bird has the bravery she needs to be a (daytime) knight. ( )

The eager new recruit for the Knight Night Watch is a little bird that talks too much and prefers to be awake during the day. Early Bird is annoying and creates a dangerous situation for Owl, but still manages to become something tolerable by the end.

It's not as cute as the first book, but a fine follow-up all the same. ( )
