Alexis may have pissed me off on multiple occasions, but I’m beaming too big at all the other parts to care. I may have even cried a time or two. ( )

Fantastic read! Finally, a new romance book with witty writing, strong character development, and hilarious moments. I loved how this book can bring such a heavy topic, put us through the grief and anger of the protagonist, and provide closure and healing in a realistic way. It's once of the first books I recommend when someone needs to get back into reading and enjoys romance. ( )

I was prepared to hate this book once I realized it was going to be about partner and parental abuse. I even almost DNFed it. Somehow it managed to win me over page after page. ( )

“Grace costs you nothing”

Awe, this one was adorable. I like that, in the midst of a sweet love story, we also got some pretty good examples of abuse in relationships and a few tips on how to handle them. Abuse can be broken bones and bruises but it's not always and I liked the subtle way they introduced what had happened.

I love the idea of a town choosing its residents. So cute. ( )

4.5 ✨ This was my first book by Abby Jimenez and I was completely drawn in right from the first chapter. It’s filled with hilarious, heartwarming moments, mixed with emotional and tender ones.

I was impressed by the way that Jimenez broached heavy topics with such care in the midst of delivering great humor and a sweet romance.

The small-town setting and the found family theme were so sweet. There was a Hallmark esque vibe but spice, lol, actually more spice than I thought there would be. 😬🫣

Daniel Grant is the kind of guy you can’t help but fall for. He’s kind, generous, and selfless—always there for others, no matter what. I loved his heart and how he would do anything for Alexis, but he also had his own struggles, like trying to save his family’s legacy. Watching him take care of a baby goat in pajamas was just one of the many moments that made me adore him. And he reads and cooks? What’s not to love? 💘

Alexis Montgomery, on the other hand, comes from a completely different world. She’s smart and successful but has been through so much emotional abuse, both from her ex and her own family. Watching her growth throughout the book was inspiring. She learned to break free from toxic relationships and discovered her worth, thanks to Daniel’s love and support.

The romance between Daniel and Alexis, despite their different worlds, felt real and beautiful. While they fell for each other quickly, their connection was undeniable. Daniel was willing to give up everything for her, which made his character all the more endearing. He showed Alexis what true love and care look like, helping her see life in a new way.

The ending was everything I hoped for, it was incredibly satisfying. 🥰

My only complaints are Alexis’s brother’s character kind of seemed like an afterthought. I just felt like it wasn’t 100% believable that he just flew the coop and we never really heard from him until the end of the book. Secondly, Abby probably writes to a younger generation as I didn’t necessarily resonate with the language between the girlfriends and even the guy friends. The way they talked about sex, explicit photos, etc., seemed really far-fetched and kind of tacky for my taste. I would never talk to my girlfriends about stuff like that but maybe that’s just me. 🤨

But overall, this was a fun, quick romcom that will take you through a whirlwind of emotions, but in the end, it feels like the perfect, dreamy love story.

Favorite Quotes:
“Love follows you. It goes where you go. It doesn’t know about social divides or distance or common sense. It doesn’t even stop when the person you love dies. It does what it wants.”

From the very beginning, I was hooked. I mean, who can resist a book that introduces a baby goat in pajamas? It was an instant swoon moment for me, and I didn't need to know anything else to be completely sold on this story.

As I delved deeper into the pages, I couldn't shake the feeling that this book exuded major Hallmark movie vibes. And you know what? That's exactly what I was in the mood for. But what really captured my heart were the characters.

Alexis, our protagonist, is charmed by Daniel's small-town life, despite coming from a completely different world herself. Speaking of Daniel, I found myself pondering who would be the perfect cast for these characters. While I'm still undecided on Daniel, I can totally see Jessica Chastain embodying the role of Alexis with her charm and grace.

But let's talk about the pets, shall we? I'm a sucker for quirky and silly pet characters, and Hunter the dog stole the show for me. His antics brought a smile to my face every time he appeared on the page, and he quickly became the animal front runner in my book.

As I followed Alexis's journey and watched her evolve throughout the story, I found myself drawn more and more to Daniel's small-town life. Maybe it's the wisdom that comes with age, but I couldn't help but appreciate the simplicity and charm of his world, which felt strangely familiar to my own.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed Part of Your World. It's a heartwarming tale filled with love, laughter, and adorable animal companions that made my day. If you're in the mood for a feel-good read with plenty of charm, then look no further. ( )

I understand now the hype of this book in BookTok, but I know people will hate me when I say I almost wished the two main characters didn’t end up together in the end. I felt Daniel was too good for Alexis. Here me out first. I am not downplaying the life traumas that Alexis faced her whole life, but I also don’t think that gives her the right to play with two men’s feelings. Granted, one was an a--, but the other was a cinnamon roll hero. I still enjoyed this book very much. There was a lot of humor, and the storyline was engaging. I was very animated while listening to this in my car and I'm pretty sure the other drivers were staring at me. Overall, this may not be my favorite, but I still think it's worth reading. ( )

Alexis swerves to avoid a raccoon and her car goes into a ditch. A handsome stranger, Daniel, pulls her car out. She later sees him at a lodge, and helps him win a bet. One thing leads to another and they become involved. But Alexis is a surgeon and is expected to follow in her father's footsteps of head of surgery. Daniel is 10 years younger, a laid back carpenter, and trying to earn money to save his legacy. They are mismatched in careers, but matched in love.
Alexis can't decide if she wants to give love a chance or honor her father's dream of her becoming head of surgery, and returning to be with her ex who was verbally and mentally abusive.
Can she give up her world to be part of his?
Cute romance, but I preferred the 2nd and 3rd novels in this series. ( )

I'm not crying you are 😭😭, This is so hard to even begin to unload the emotions this book made me feel. But let me try...

Alexis- female main character and Daniel male main character, both worlds apart. Alexis, from the rich world, a doctor rising in her ranks and 10 years older. Daniel, a carpenter and from a small town, tattooed and sweet all around.
I can't even begin to express how this man crushed my soul 🤫please don't tell my husband, but I would've wrapped this man in my arms and never let him go.😂😂

I had such a good time reading this book that I legit could not put it down, I am unfortunately not that fast of a reader so I started it yesterday afternoon and finished it today.
I found myself reading lines to my husband that had me in freaking in tears from laughing so hard.

“I refuse to have sex with someone who doesn’t have a headboard. I’m not that desperate—yet. My vagina has officially been closed for so long I’m afraid a Spirit Halloween is going to move in.”

“Just keep her laughing,” Doug said. “When a woman laughs, her eyes are closed more. She won’t notice how ugly you are.”

I can't relate to Alexis in the rich department but what she goes through with her ex and her father, I can relate 10 folds. It pulled at my heart strings and pissed me off that I found myself yelling, I mean straight up cursing at these asshats characters. I might need to reach out to my therapist again but hey it's okay, I'm okay 😂. I can't dive in too much without full on spoiling the book for anyone but please read the book. I didn't find it triggering around it's trauma areas but the book does have some scenes of ⚠️ mental abuse and a couple of physical abuse⚠️. Personally I was not triggered because I don't easily do however I understand some people do and it's okay just do the research on the book but I promise this book is so worth reading.

I laughed, I cried and I mean straight up sobbed 😢😢, my heart broke and healed but oh man it was just so worth it.

“I'd give up my life here to be where she was if she'd have me. I'd give up my house and this town and all the people in it. If she was at the hospital eighty hours a week, I could be there when she left and be there when she came home. Make her breakfast, take her lunch, take her dinner. I could pick up the slack. She wouldn't have to do anything, it could be all me this time -I'd go to her. It didn't have to end.”- Daniel, like who doesn't want someone to love them this deep, he legit broke my heart.

If you can get anything from my ramblings above it's read it. It was just freaking amazing. ( )

I didn't like this. The woman who is the main character was so beaten down and so over-privileged. Obviously the book is supposed to be about her changing, but there was no sign of the actual hard work and reflection it would take. I only read about 1/3 of it.

Lovely romance between a small town man and a successful doctor. Both are responsible - Daniel for his town, Alexis for the hospital. Issues of domestic violence well presented. Lovely animals, town, and characters. ( )

Seriously, Abby Jimenez does not disappoint. I read this book in just about one sitting, staying up way too late on a busy, end-of-school-year night. It was that good—not even strong teacher-sleep-exhaustion could make me stop turning pages. And as I kept falsely promising myself “One more chapter,” I realized that my cheek muscles hurt because of the goofy grin permanently plastered to my face. Reading it is just plain goodness—you can’t help smiling, something we all need a little more of.

Alexis, an ER doctor from a pretentious medical dynasty, thinks she’s just passing through little, podunk Wakan on her way back to big-city life. But when she swerves to miss a raccoon, she and her Mercedes wind up in a ditch, leading to a series of humorous and honest events that have her questioning whether she belongs more to this world than the one where all her obligations and expectations live.

This is my first read by the author and I couldn’t put it down. I enjoy romance stories but this one was so much more. Alexi Montgomery, a doctor, gets stuck in a small town and meets Daniel Grant and sparks fly. They are from two entirely different worlds but they cannot keep away from one another and fall in love. How do two people go through life without each other? Or do you somehow find a way to make it work. I look forward to reading more from this author. ( )

Audiobook - two good narrators.

This is a weird one for me. I read it quickly and can’t say that I didn’t enjoy it BUT I found the central roadblock in this one incredibly silly. I wish there was less reliance on “wow! He’s so good at sex” / bolt from the blue / love at first sight / “the town wants what it wants” and more of actually showing why these two fell in love. It’s most left to you filling in the blanks after the author tells you that they spent five hours talking on the phone.

I also think it’s good that the story illustrates different kinds of abuse in a non-
lecture type of way that might actually pass on useful information to women so they can recognize it in their own life or the lives of their friends and internalize some possible strategies in a more subtle way than a PSA on TV.

I think the author is setting up the foundations for a bunch of books here too which is mildly annoying to me. ( )

I loved both character and just loved how the family adobted the main character, it was book that i did not want to stop listneing to and the 3rd act conflict hurt me!!! Def need to read more by this author in the future! ( )

My first book by this author and it definitely won't be my last. Loved the wit and humor of the story and the depth and "lessons" of the plot. Fun, quick read (listen) and the narrator was great! ( )

This is my favorite Abby Jimenez book so far. I love that this book (and all of Abby's books) cover difficult topics in a way that is relatable. This book had me feeling all my feels from happiness to rage, they ran the gamut.

Alexis's dad was 100% an A-hole, her mom had no backbone and was kind of a "B", her ex was a total jerk. The chemistry between Alexis and Daniel was obvious from the moment they met.

I love a great contemporary romance book with a good amount of humour. Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez was just that! What happens when a big town doctor falls in love with a small town carpenter? It's like a Hallmark movie but better! And in book form!

Alexis Montgomery is an emergency room doctor who comes from a very well-known family of doctors. She isn't meeting their expectations, but she is still one incredible human. On her way back from a funeral, her car decides to wind up in a ditch. Along comes a handsome man named Daniel Grant who helps her on her way. And by on her way, I mean into his bed before going on her way. These two start to develop feelings and have an emotional roller coaster of fun, friendship, and romance. The country boy meets city girl trope is here, and BOY is it great! There's drama in knowing her family doesn't approve, but you just want them to end up together. It's like a fairy tale in real life!

This book is fun, fast paced, and really engaging. I didn't want to put it down, but knew I had to go to sleep at some point. There's laughs and cries, smiles and pouts, and a cute baby goat! I felt my heart melt and at other times I wanted to beat the crap out of some of the characters. Abby Jimenez does an excellent job of inputting a lot of heart and character development into this book. I will absolutely be picking up more books by this author, and there's even a sequel with Alexis' best friend named Bri getting her time to shine! I'm thrilled!

Five out of five stars! Exactly my kind of book! ( )
