Kangaroo is back! In this story he and his friends at camp divide into halves, thirds, and fourths to form teams at field day. Readers will cheer on this rowdy crew of Australian animals as they swim, canoe, play tug-of-war, and have a good, goofy time. Review from Amazon

This is a story about twelve campers that go on a camping trip and compete in different activities. As it goes, it has children work with fractions.

A book for older children that teaches them fractions while having fun reading

A group of animals go to camp. On their field day they are told to split up in groups in a number of ways. The author incorporates learning about fractions into the book.

This book is a great way to teach children how to do fractions. With each activity the competitors are asked to split into groups containing either six, four, or three. In doing this the readers are able to learn about 1/2, 1/3 , 1/4 fractions.

In the classroom I would like to teach the students more on how to do fractions. I would give them bottle caps and have them split the caps into 1/2, 1/3, 1/4. We could also have our own field day as well.

This book was very cute. I would absolutely read this in my classes sometime, most likely to a very young group of kids. I think this book teaches a good lesson that you can always win at something eventually and to never give up, but to keep trying. I really liked this book a lot and thought it was very cute and creative. I also really liked the way that math was incorporated into it.
