So, I'm guessing Palatini's _target didn't get the hint from this one, and that's why, a few years later, she wrote [b:Gorgonzola: A Very Stinkysaurus|3076248|Gorgonzola A Very Stinkysaurus|Margie Palatini|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1256003574s/3076248.jpg|3107277]? If the duck bathes and uses powder and buys new clean shoes, and still stinks, he needs to see a GP or a podiatrist. Otherwise, funny & cute book - but it's Palatini, so that goes without saying. ( )

A love story for all those suffering through a life with smelly feet. My kind of book. And I'm not just saying that because I've been told that I have smelly feet on occasion. This was a very entertaining book and both the illustrations and the text were equally responsible. I liked it all. This might disgust some of the younger audience that her other books attract, but I liked it a lot. ( )

Summary: Douglas and Dolores are in a relationship, but Douglas' extremely terrible smelling feet cause major problems: every time he removes his shoes, Delores passes out, as does anyone else around them. He tries all sorts of things to clean his feet and make them not smell, and Delores thinks maybe it's his shoes that smell instead of his feet. In the end, they find that his feet are always going to be stinky, but it's okay because they are truly in love.

This is a hilarious story about two ducks who are dating but everytime he takes off his shoes, she passes out from the smell of his feet. He tries to clean them but it is no use. He is embarrassed but doesn't know what to do about it. Then one day, after he decided there was nothing he can do about it, they smelled an odor coming from the bedroom. They went to investigate and Dolores told Douglas that it is not his feet that stink, it is his closet of smelly shoes. The closet made them BOTH pass out. So they got rid of all of the shoes and they were both still in love...and it was a good thing, because it turns out the shoes were not the problem after all!

This book is very funny and I think school age children will love it. The illustrations are bright and add even more humor to the story. For example, not only does Delores pass out, but everyone around does too! Palatini has written another hilarious book that kids will want to read over and over. ( )
