Hey all!!!
Well, got off to a slow start this year - have had to cut down some on my reading in order to get in some more physical activity due to some health issues so my first 3 of the year are:
1. Black Juice by Margo Lanagan
2. Christine Falls by Benjamin Black
3. The Line of Beauty by Alan Hollinghurst

How did you like the Macomber book? I have been interested in reading a book by her.

I am wishing you a speedy recovery. Can you read in French?
7kmbooklover
Yes I can - I don't do it as often as I should though; I'll read a book in French if that's it's original language or if it was originally in a language other than English (Gabriel Garcia Marquez or Carlos Ruiz Zafon books I read in French as I did with Perfume by Patrick Susskind which was originally in German)
Thanks for the speedy recovery wishes; things are progressing well though I'm still waiting on my glasses... maybe this week (I hope!) Once I get them I should be able to catch up on reading all the threads on LT that I've neglected (since I spend my working day in front of a PC my eyes are too tired at night to do any more).
Have a great day!!

Are you going to see the movie of Gulliver's Travels?
I am starting to collect the Eve Dallas books, but I only have the first three so far. I understand that they just get better and better.

Hi BJ!!!
I'm not planning on seeing the movie of "Gulliver" - I somehow can't see Jack Black as the title character... :)
The Eve Dallas books are fun and easy reading so they're great to come back to after something heavier... (tho I do wish that there could be a moratorium on authors writing "series" books - there are just too many to keep track of...)
28. Years by LaVyrle Spencer
29. Contagion by Robin Cook
30. Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin
31. Deadly Affairs by Brenda Joyce Francesca Cahill book 3

I know what you mean about series. For years I never read books in a series. Now all of a sudden I have started a number of series. And the bookstore never seems to have the one I want next in stock. So I have to drop by more often. :)

What did you think of the Diaz book? I borrowed it from my daughter to read one of these days.

As long as you know quite a bit of Spanish - there is quite a bit of it in the book with no translation provided so unfortunately I wasn't always clear on what was being said which colored my appreciation - it was good but that point kinda spoiled it for me...

Thanks for the heads up on the Spanish. I do speak a little, but not too much. Both of my girls speak more than I do. I wonder why my daughter did not warn me?
And congrats on passing 50! :)

Hi BJ!!!
I haven't been here lately as we were very busy renovating our kitchen and planning next year's bathroom reno!! Wasted a month's vacation supervising workmen and had no time or extra dough to get away at all and since you can't really supervise and read at the same time I'm kinda slow this year (will post my reads soon)
