This past Wednesday Mark David Chapman went in front of the Parole Board for the seventh time and for the seventh time he was denied Parole. In '81 a Judge had Sentenced him to 20 years to Life for his Assassination of the former Beatle John Lennon. Personally, I hope that he NEVER gets Paroled and is set free. He deserves to die in Prison since his Murder of John Lennon was Premeditated. He Murdered one of the Greatest Singer/Songwriters of the 60s or any other generation. And also one half of the Lennon/McCartney team that wrote The Beatles songs. When I say that I think he's one of the Greatest Singer/Songwriters from the 60s or any other generation, I'm also including:
Paul McCartney
Bob Dylan
Carole King
Joan Baez
Joni Mitchell
John Denver
Mick Jagger
Keith Richards
Madonna
Janis Joplin
Don McClean
Laura Nyro
Jackson Browne
Burton Cummings of The Guess Who
Pete Townshend & John Entwistle of THE WHO
In my personal opinion these are just some of the Greatest Singer/Songwriters ever. Of course you could add a lot more names to this list. You'll notice that several of the Singer/Songwriters I've included on the list are Folk Singers. Growing up in the 60s & 70s
I listened to everything from The British Invasion to Folk Music, R & B, Soul, the California Sound of The Beach Boys and Jan & Dean, and all the other genres of the era. I love Grand Funk/Grank Funk Rail Road, The Bee Gees, Barbra Streisand, Deep Purple, plus everyone else from that era. The Music from the 60s & 70s is my favourite thoug I say I like Rock 'n Roll from the 1950s to the 80s, I also like Classic Country, Music from the Big Band Era especially from World War II, Musicals, 50s Music like Doris Day, Frank Sinatra, Doo Wop, etc. Of course with all of my Albums I have them filed in Alphabetical Order then the order they were originally released in at the time.
