Game of Thrones Prequel Now Live From It's Book Adaptation!

Considering the Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon just premiered, has anyone read George R.R. Martin's Fire and Blood and can recap whether the HBO show is capturing its essence well? I was really intrigued by the "Behind the Episode" portion where they discussed choosing to open the series with a quick Targaryen synopsis but a massive epic Grand Council scene. I have never had the time to get through Martin's GoT series but love the show and am now thinking about reading through as many as I can!
