Coming out in paperback as of today, Heart in the Right Place is one of those books I'm baffled by. It's got all the elements of a great book--personable & hilarious author, humble storyline, unbelievable yet true scenarios, simple yet addictive prose--but somehow there are still so many people who haven't heard of it. Perhaps because I've talked with Carolyn and she makes me laugh to the point of tears and tummy aches and because this is one of few books my mom has read and has no complaints about--she's a tough one to please, that lass--I think it's one more people should know about. It's an ideal book club book. Plus it has tales of fainting goats and 7-inch splinters--two things I find hard to fathom yet am so intrigued by!
I see that some LibraryThing reviewers have loved this book--are you one of them? Have you read it? If so, what did you think?

I read this book a while ago at the recommendation of a friend, and found it to be delightful!

I'm one of those people who never heard of this book, but it sounds like a good read. Fainting goats? Now I am curious!

I know, right?! Fainting goats. Who knew? And delightful. That's probably the best word to describe both the book and Carolyn Jourdan.

I so understand your pain. My father swears that if we keep putting more books in the house, the floor is going to sink. I'm married to a librarian, so you can just imagine--we are wall to wall books. But this does sound like a great read, so maybe one more wouldn't hurt?

I'm too busy writing the next novel to think about a sequel. Lol! Besides, I've read some awfully bad sequels, so I'm wary of them.

#2 Is Heart in the Right Place like any other recent memoir that we may know?

Just finished Heart in the Right Place, it was wonderful, I didn't want it to end.

okay

I will try again. I put it up to be mooched. I have two copies. I reserved it for my sister, because she wants to read it. If you want it though, post on my profile and I will loan her the other one instead of the paperback, and unreserve it for you.
