I am going to try again for 2010. I didn't make the goal in 2009 because I started late and got involved in a few too many 600 page books. I am also doing the 1010 challenge with 10 books in each category, so the way I figure it I'll at least make one of my goals for 2010!

1. Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson

I love reading books that I've seen the movie to because it's interesting to see just how different the book is!

I hesitate to see the movie, because I loved the book... What do you think?

I liked the book as well as the movie but the movie showed a bit more as to the made up characters of Terabithia where as the book didn't go into much detail on them.

How are you liking the Fablehaven books? I read the first one last year, but have not read any of the others to this point.

I love them so far. I do have trouble getting through them but the second one was even better than the 1st. I have #3 at home and hope to start this afternoon.

I will have to pick up the second book the next time I am at the library.

#17: What did you think of The Sea? I just got a copy in a couple of weeks ago, but have not had a chance to read it yet.

#18 I loved the author's elegant prose but I found it to be a little too jumpy going from different times in Max's life. It was a good fast read and it did keep me wanting to see what happened next.

#29: I have read a couple of Churchill's mysteries, but not that one. Was it any good?

31mistique0130
May 24, 2010, 4:03 pm

#30: It was about the same as the other Grace and Favor mysteries. I haven't tried her other series yet. I would say it was just OK but it was a quick read. I just have this thing about finishing a series once I start it.

Oh, I know how that goes, believe me. Unless a series is just absolutely terrible, I will hang with it. Some series start out very well, like the Kay Scarpetta series by Patricia Cornwell, and then go down the tubes. I finally stopped reading those because they had gotten so bad (at least to me.)

How did you like Oh. My. Gods.? I have a copy here that I won from the author's blog, but I haven't got around to reading it yet. It looks good though!

#37 I thought it was pretty good. I have got Goddess Boot Camp at home and plan to start that next week. Oh.My.Gods was good and a quick read too!

#49 I haven't tried any of the recipes yet. I think when I get to some of the more recent ones in the series with the apple turnovers I will have to try those. I do want to try the pound plus cake recipe for strawberry shortcake in this one though!

#53 I am doing better than I did last year on this challenge but I don't think I'll make it. I liked Rooms. I lot of reviews thought it was preachy but I liked that it was modern and I thought the lessons were laid out nicely. I didn't find it preachy at all!

#66 I am enjoying those. I think I am reading several series right now including the Sookie Stackhouse ones. I am also waiting to get book #5 in Brandon Mull's Fablehaven series so I can be done with that and Mockingjay is sitting in my TBR pile so I can finish that trilogy! Plus I got Fragile Eternity by Melissa Marr in my TBR so I have a lot of catching up to do!
