Had to run over here to see what a librarian considers 'crap' and whether I would love to read it too :D.

I just had a look at your profile and it lists your favorite authors as Jim Butcher, Meg Cabot and Janet Evanovich. I hereby bow to you. It's so comforting to meet another librarian that doesn't focus on "worthy literature"! As if Harry Dresden, Suzannah Simon and Stephanie Plum are somehow inferior and don't teach us useful things!

#10: I learn something from Grandma Mazur every time I read one of the Stephanie Plum books :)

Book #2 -- The Brutal Telling by Louise Penny

I got this as a ARC so was not familar with the series. I will definitely be reading all the books. A wonderful literary mystery.

#2: The Three Pines series is terrific. I hope you get a chance to read them all. They really need to be read in order if you can swing it.

Book #3 -- Dead Girls Are Easy by Terri Garey

I enjoyed this really fun paranormal romance. Totally escapist chick lit. Quick read.

Book #4 -- Die for Me by Karen Rose

After a slow start, I really enjoyed this thriller about an archeologist and a cop hunting down a serial killer.

# 5 -- How To Wash a Cat by Rebecca M. Hale

I enjoyed the characters in this cozy mystery but the mystery is missing something. Enjoyable enough to try the second in the series when it comes out to see if things come together better.

I'm reaching the end of the published Meg Langslow books, so I'll be on the lookout for a new cozy mystery series pretty soon. I may have to check out Hale. Thanks!

# 6 Elvis and the Grateful Dead by Peggy Webb

Though I enjoyed the first in the series this one was just off. Disappointed.

#7 Management Rewired by Charles S. Jacobs

Hmmm, some good suggestions but not really that "surprising". I read this for my managers' book club at work.

#8 Once Bitten by Clare Willis

I enjoyed this paranormal romance/mystery. Nice characters and a real feel for the San Francisco setting.

#9 Rises the Night by Colleen Gleason

I enjoyed this second in the series more than the first. Lots of action in ths historical paranormal romance.

#10 Trouble in Mudbug by Jana Deleon

A cute romantic mystery set in the Bayou with the addition of a ghost-in-law for fun.

#11 Nice Girls Don't Live Forever by Molly Harper

The third book in a series about a former librarian turned vampire. Sort of a chick lit paranormal but with a definite Stephanie Plum vibe. Laugh out loud funny in places. I love this series.

#12 Wicked Craving by G. A. Mckevett

I got this as an Early Review copy and I really enjoyed this cozy mystery. Now I want to go back and start at the beginning of the series!

#13 -- The Demon's Librarian by Lilith Saintcrow

How could I resist a book about a demon hunting librarian. Great fun. I hope this is the start of a series.

#33: I read Saintcrow's Working for the Devil last year, expecting pulpy trash and getting a smart, crisp, well-paced supernatural adventure story (okay, spiced with pulpy trash, but in a good way).

I hadn't heard of The Demon's Librarian, but now I'm psyched like a fanboy. Thanks for the recommendation!

#33: Well, I cannot resist a book about a demon hunting librarian, so into the BlackHole it goes!

Yeah, Saintcrow will surprise you. I have read a couple of her books and often recommend her. I usually get good reviews from the readers I have suggested her to.

#14 -- Bad Blood by Mari Mancusi

This is the 4th book in the Blood Coven series. It is Young Adult featuring twins named Sunshine and Rayne. This series fun. Read in series.

Book 15 -- Silent Screams by C E Lawrence

I enjoyed this well-written serial killer mystery. Not as gory as many of this genre can be. Very likable and complex characters.

Book 16 -- Truly, Madly by Heather Webber

I enjoyed this chick lit mystery. It was an Early Reviewer copy. I will be reading the next in the series about a young matchmaker with psychic abilities.

#40: I have that one sitting on my nightstand waiting for me to read it. I will have to get to it soon.

Book 17 -- Prom Dates From Hell by Rosemary Clement-Moore

Calling all Buffy fans. You will love the smart-mouthed Maggie Quinn as she fights evil (demons and cheerleaders). Lots of laughs and fun in this fluffy Young Adult paranormal.

Book #16 sounds like fun! I'm going to see if my library has a copy :)

Book 18 -- Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning

All my friends were crazy for this chick lit paranormal mystery series. Got to admit, it is the pretty addicting and fun. Now I have to get the second in the series fast!

Book 19 -- How to Host a Killer Party by Penny Warner

Cute start to a new cozy series. Set in San Francisco with lots of fun characters.

Book 20 -- Bloodfever by Karen Marie Moning

My friends are right!. This series is totally addicting.

#48 So totally addicting. I am waiting for the 4th one and the fifth one does not come out until December!

Book 21 -- Faefever by Karen Marie Moning

Third in the series. Still as addicting as ever. Beware, the world as we know it is about to end!

Book 22 -- Sex, Murder and a Double Latte by Kyra Davis

This chick lit mystery had me laughing out loud. Sophie Katz is a smart mouth mystery writing San Franciscan. Really enjoyed it.

#51: Looks fun. I will have to see if I can find it!

#52 Sex Murder and a Double Latte is the first in a series, it is a few years old but new ones are being written. You should be able to find it at the library.

Book 23 -- Dreamfever by Karen Marie Moning

The action and mysteries just keep heating up. Great Series.

Book 24 -- Undead Much by Stacey Jay

Second in the series, this is a fun YA novel about zombies, high school and love.

Book 25 -- The Cougar Club by Susan McBride

I got this chick lit book about the reunion of friends in middle age as an Early Review copy. It was an entertaining quick read.

Book 26 -- Hourglass by Claudia Gray

Third book in the "Evernight" series. Absolutely wonderful Young Adult paranormal. Read in series.

Book 27 -- Death's Daughter by Amber Benson

A nice, fluffy chick lit paranormal story. Lots of fun. First in the series.

#59: I have that one hanging around my house somewhere, patiently waiting for me to get to it. One of these days, I will.

Book 28 -- Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

Enjoyable start to a chicklit vampire romance-y series. I wlll be reading more in the series.

Book 29 -- Out of Eden by Beth Ciotta

I enjoyed this chick lit even though there was not a vampire or ghost in site. A nice change of pace.

Book 30 -- Naked Dragon by Annette Blair

Not as much fun as other books I have read by Annette Blair. I think there was too much romance and not enough plot. A lot happened but it was not held together very well. It does have the humor of Blair's other books.

Book 31 -- Unholy Ghosts by Stacia Kane

Action-filled urban fantasy. Really enjoyed it. Witches, ghosts and thugs, oh, my!

#65: Someone else in the group really liked that one so I already have it in the BlackHole. I hope my local library gets a copy in soon.

Book 32 -- Hex Marks the Spot by Madelyn Alt

Third book in this paranormal mystery series. Lots of fun!

Book 33 -- White Cat by Holly Black

The first in a new YA series about magic and crime.
I really enjoyed this book, looking forward to the next in the series.

Unholy Ghosts and Hex marks the Spot sound fun! I think I'll download them for the beach.

#47: I just requested Bloodfever from the library. I was looking for a new paranormal series. Maybe this one will be good for a summer road trip. I'll let you know what I think.

#68: I requested White Cat as well. I quite enjoyed her Holly Black's Faerie stories (Ironside, Tithe, and Valiant--not necessarily in that order) when I read them last year.

Unholy Ghosts and Hex Marks the Spot would be great summer reads. The fever series has proven to be addictive to more than one person I know.

Book 34 -- Murder on the Eightfold Path by Diana Killian

This is the 3rd book in the Mantra for Murder mystery series. I really enjoy these cozy mysteries.

Book 35 -- Disappearing Nightly by Laura Resnick

Loved this Urban Fantasy about a struggling actress who is trying to find a group of magician's assistants who have truly disappeared. First in the series.

Book 36 -- The New Girl (Fear Street #1) by R. L. Stine

A nice short chiller that is appropriate for tweens and teens. Oh, and aging librarians.

Book 37 -- Still Sucks to Be Me by Kimberly Pauley

I really enjoyed this book. Mina has a great sense of humor and the book is just fun. Appropriate for Tweens and Teens.

Book 38 -- A Killer Plot by Ellery Adams

Very well written cozy mystery. First in the series. It is set in the South and has a dog. Who could ask for anything more???

Book 39 -- Demon Princess: Reign Check by Michelle Rowen

Second in the Demon Princess series. A fun young adult novel about a girl who turns 16 and learns that she is half demon. Happy Birthday!!! Anyway, lots of fun here.

Book 40 -- Tomb with a View by Casey Daniels

This is the 6th book in the Pepper Martin series. I love this chick lit mystery series about a cemetery tour guide who solves crimes for ghosts.

#84: My local library does not have that series, but it is available for the Nook, so I will start reading it. The series looks fun! Thanks for the recommendation, Jan.

Book 41 -- Hearts at Stake by Alyxandra Harvey

This is the first in a new YA series about BFFs. One human and one vampire. Imagine that. A Young Adult book about vampires! Anyway, lots of action, a touch of romance. Lots of fun.

Book 42 -- Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

Loved it!

Book 43 -- Real Vampires Hate Their Thighs by Gerry Bartlett

Not as much action as the other books in the series, but who can resist Glory and her crew. Lots of changes, looking forward to the next in the series to see where it is going.

Book 44 -- Blood Feud by Alyxandra Harvey

The second book in The Drake Chronicles is just as good as the first. A very good YA vampire series. Plenty of action and just the right amount of romance.

Book 45 -- Murder Past Due by Miranda James

Libraries, Cats and murder. This is the first in the Cat in the Stacks Mystery. It is a very good tradition cozy set in the South. I really enjoyed it.

I read a book in one of the series you mentioned earlier this year, the Casey Daniel series, Don of the Dead. Thanks for the recommendation, Jan. I enjoyed the book and have started the second one, The Chick and the Dead.

I just love the Pepper Martin mysteries by Casey Daniel. Glad you enjoyed them too.

book 46 -- Kiss of the Rose by Kate Pearce

I enjoyed this historical, vampire romance more than I expected. There is plenty of action and the sex is not overdone.

Book 47 -- Deeply, Desperately by Heather Webber

This is the second book in the series. It is about a matchmaker with the ability to find missing people, but it is about a lot more. I really enjoy this romantic mystery series.

Book 48 -- My Name Is Memory by Ann Brashares

I really enjoyed this book about love that withstands the centuries. It is also about life and living in the present.

Book 49 -- The Stone Child by Dan Poblocki

A fun, scaryish read for older children and tweens. It has a nice little mystery in it too.

Book 50 -- Divorced, Desperate and Delicious by Christie Craig

A nice bit of sexy fun with a animal loving divorcee and a man on the run.

Book 51 -- Fiendish Deeds by P J Bracegirdle

The first book in the Joy of Spooking series. I will definitely be following the adventures of Joy and the other characters in the creepy and fun series for older kids and tweens.

Book 52 -- Wicked Appetite by Janet Evanovich

I loved this first book in a new series. It is typical Evanovich, funny and snarky. I love the new cast of characters and the paranormal twist. Looking forward to the next in the series.

Book 53 -- Whisper of a Witch by Suza Kates

A nice witch story set in Savannah, GA A good mix of magic and romance. First in a new series.

#105 -- People seem split on it Frankly, I thought it was refreshing but still definitely Evanovich.

Book 54 -- Murder at Mansfield Park by Lynn Shepherd

I am always a bit leary of Austen based books but this was a nice surprise. Nice mystery too.

Book 55 -- The Keepers by Heather Graham

Nice paranormal romance/mystery. The mystery was pretty good and not too heavy on the romance.

Book 56 -- Tressed to Kill by Lila Dare

This is the first book in a new series. It is set in a small coastal Georgia town. Our detective is, you guessed it, a hairdresser. This one is a good, if not spectacular, start to a series. I will be reading the next one.

Book 57 -- Suspect by Kristin Wolden Nitz

A nice YA mystery that made a nice day's reading.

Book 58 -- Original Sin by Allison Brennan

I really enjoyed this first in the Seven Deadly Sins series. A good old fashioned good vs evil throwdown. Looking forward to the next book.

4th in the Royal Spyness mystery series. I love these books set in the 1930's with a herione who is 34th in line to the crown and penniless.

Ansty young adult book with an excellent message about eating disorders, friends and family.

Book 61 -- The Shifters by Alexandra Sokoloff

Nice paranormal romance, second in a trilogy, The Keepers. I liked both of the books that have come out so far.

Book 62 -- Homicide in Hardcover by Kate Carlisle

I really enjoyed this first in the Bibliophile Mysteries. The characters are loads of fun and the San Francisco setting is conveyed with love.

Book 63 -- Virals by Kathy Reichs

I really enjoyed this YA scifi mystery. I hope to see more of these characters in the future.

#122: Yours makes the third mention of that book I have seen today. I obviously need to get my hands on a copy!

Book 64 -- God's Secretaries: The Making of the King James Bible by Adam Nicolson

A very easy to understand book about a very complex process.

Book 65 -- The Diva Runs Out of Thyme by Krista Davis

The first in the Domestic Diva mystery series. Lots of fun.

Book 66 -- Out of Sight, Out of Mind by Marilyn Kaye

A fun, fast YA paranormal about friendship, family and self-acceptance. It is the first in the Gifted series.

Book 67 -- Better Late Than Never by Marilyn Kaye

Second book in the Gifted series of young adult books. As much fun as the first one. Excellent for tweens.

Too bad the local library does not have the books in that series. They look fun!

Book 68 -- Scent To Her Grave by India Ink

Disappointing start to the Bath and Body Mystery series. Did not like the heroine at all.

book 69 -- Hell Week by Rosemary Clement-Moore

I really enjoyed this second book in the series. Maggie is in college and rushing sororities to uncover all the dirt. What she finds is the evil sorority of all evil sororities, and they want her.
