Student friendly text features, interactive features, and additional links to media and pictures make this atlas extremely user friendly. Easy for early elementary students to understand and navigate. This atlas allows students to travel the world and gain more of an understanding of the world around them. Grade level: 1-5 ( ) I purchased this atlas after our Book Fair and found that had many student friendly unique features. The table of contents uses the globe showing the given continent and breaks larger continents using directions - a great way to reinforce location. The front of the book clearly explained some additonal features such as photos, videos and activites icons to look for for further learning using that particular media. Also like the individual pages on the four oceans and various other topics in the intro. A great find for $15. Another fabulous selection for non-fiction. All to often I find myself drawn towards fiction picture books, and I have to remind myself to collect other genres so my students will have the opportunity to explore books of different types. This book is a wonderful collection of maps, pictures, text and facts that will enthrall students. It sounds cliche, but there really is something for everybody in this book. Kids can travel the world using this atlas. Bonus: the first section of the book gives easy-to-read, explicit directions on how to use the atlas. no reviews | add a review
