He was brought to Jessie Healy's doorstep for help, but before he could rest and heal, Jessie had to overcome her deep fear and hatred of his kind. My first romance novel with a footnote! albeit it was in the last page. Surprisingly, there was also a glossary at the end of the book, but I felt the story had enough information that this wasn't really necessary. I enjoyed reading this book very much, but I felt Nick and Jessie fell in love a little too fast, considering Jessie and Nick were basically enemies. I'd say that's a lot to overcome in several days. With the story's villain, Nagi, I always pictured him as a cartoony character with a hunched back, silly grin and always going, "hee hee hee" while he plotted his evil plans. But I was creeped out ever since I learnt at the end of the first book that Nagi planned on impregnating humans to produce his offspring. Possessing so many humans to do the act, and gifting many women unwanted pregnancies. I guess I felt violated for the poor victims. And reading about him doing the act, though not explicit...obviously not my favorite part of the book. Anyway, I had fun revisiting the old characters from the last book and meeting a new Skinwalker, a buffalo shifter. Can't wait to read about them again in the third book~ Nick Chien is wounded. A wolf skinwalker, he comes under the care of Jessie Healy. A Dreamwalker, she knows it's her duty to kill him, but for reasons unknown to her, she can't harm the handsome stranger. Realizing they must work together to defeat a common and deadly enemy, a tense truce is forged between them. The Ruler of Ghost, Nagi, is building an army of ghosts designed to destroy everyone. To stop him, Jessie will need Nick's help. Once she's close to Nick, she must decide if she will allow him to lure her to committing the ultimate sin against her people. Fast-paced, strong characters...I couldn't put it down until I reached the last page. no reviews | add a review

Nick is a skinwalker and he's attacked by some ghosts posessing some human women. The Thunderbirds whisk him away and onto the lands of Jesse, a dreamwalker with a grudge against skinwalkers. She goes against her instincts and finds that she's strangely attracted to this man. As both of their personal histories are explored they realise that they have more in common than they realised
