Daunted by the singular sexual tastes and dark secrets of the beautiful, tormented young entrepreneur Christian Grey, Anastasia Steele has broken off their relationship to start a new career with a Seattle publishing house.
This book feels like watching a train wreck. I know it will be bad but for some stupid reason I can't stop reading it, to the point that I spend a whole night reading.
As I predicted at the end of the previous book this is not other story about Christian and Ana. it's still the same story, it's just the second part of the story, and as the previous book the story could have ended here, but this time the author wanted to make sure we knew there was other book out there, so she ended the book with the engagement party , but she tacks a kind of preview cliffhanger combo to the end of it. it's totally out of tone and in the voice of a totally secondary character that I had thought it was already finished with (when the book is all in Ana's voice...
And the sex scenes, they pile hight and high, but they never go anywhere, they aren't sexy and graphic enough for the book to be "hot", and they aren't classy enough for the book to be erotic. And at some point I think that even the author realised that all the sex wasn't going anywhere, so she started to write half scenes, they start kissing and then they are in post coital bliss.
I know that I will probably read the last book because for some weird reason I seam to be stuck in their cliché world and I know that in the near future I wont be able to enjoy a book without thinking about this... ( )
This question of 'What did you think?' is so hard to answer becuase of how this book left me speechless. The 2nd book in a trilogy usually seems the hardest to write and capture a reader like the first and last. The first book is a new exciting story getting to know the characters and the 3rd, the final, is the exciting bringing it all together end. But Ms. James continues with Fifty Shades Darker like a river continuing into an ocean. There is no gap, no awkward pulling of the teeth type of story, and no disappointment from cover to cover. Christian and Ana's continued dark, passionate relationship compels at every turn of the page. His choice in trying to be more for her and her acceptance of his shattered childhood is so raw and emotional, that is consumes readers throughout every page. Fifty is still Fifty, but he makes the choice to hold onto and love Ana in every/any way possible, letting her know she is his world. Ana continues to struggle with Christian's past and the life she doesn't think she can fit into, but her strength to fight, help, and love him is unconditional love at it's best. ( )
For Z and J You have my unconditional love, always.

Book description
Daunted by the singular sexual tastes and dark secrets of the beautiful, tormented young entrepreneur Christian Grey, Anastasia Steele has broken off their relationship to start a new career with a Seattle publishing house.
But desire for Christian still dominates her every waking thought, and when he proposes a new arrangement, Anastasia cannot resist. They rekindle their searing sensual affair, and Anastasia learns more about the harrowing past of her damaged, driven, and demanding Fifty Shades.
While Christian wrestles with his inner demons, Anastasia must confront her anger and envy of the women who came before her and make the most important decision of her life.
Erotic, sparkling and suspenseful, Fifty Shades Darker is the irresistibly addictive second part of the Fifty Shades trilogy.
