Some scenes, like the one in the airplane, are hilarious even to an adult. Hilly was my favourite character, but my son obviously preferred Thom. I hope the writer will write a sequel. When twelve-year-old Thom's dad disappears, leaving no babysitter but a cell phone behind, Thom breaks into the basement and finds a full-blown spy centre including whirring screens, weird maps and a photo of the Mona Lisa. Instead of going to the police, Thom decides to steal his dad's identity and becomes Alex Gonzo, Royal Spy. Together with his friend, Danny, and Danny's fifteen-year-old sister, Hilly, they embark on a hilarious adventure, following one clue after another. Soon they realise their own life's at stake, but Hilly's drama queen antics and focus on spending every penny on the royal spy credit card isn't aiding the mission one bit. Alex Gonzo, Royal Spy is a hilarious mystery adventure for teen readers aged 12+. No library descriptions found. |
