Another winner from Pamuela samuels Young. I have been reading this series a little out of order! But I am not lost I like the characters in this series and it was a treat to see her friend,Special, is in this book. Special always adds excitement. Expertly plotted and well developed character and a couple of surprises at the end.

My favorite legal thriller author has a high profile sexual discrimination case and one her clients gets murdered but who did it? The opposing counsel, Girlie Cortez will stop at nothing to win a case. Attracting males all the time with her great legs and surgically enhanced breasts, and with her personality. no women trust her ever.

A pickle, that Special gets involves return boyfriend who has recently converted to Islam. Special wants the married life badly and promises to convert but she promised before seriously exploring what she would have to give up.

There is much more to the story, like company politics, fraud and martial disputes.

I enjoyed this story very much and learned a few things too. ( )

From my blog

This legal thriller had it all, many debatable topics, cultural diversity, religion, fraud, sexism and a huge discrimination case. There was lots going on to keep you engaged with unethical, underhanded manipulation. Some characters you really do not like, the get the job done under any circumstances without only one thought, themselves.

The main character in this series, Vernetta, she is likable but I don't think memorable. I think her best friend, Special, leaves more of an impression that she does. And Girle, the other attorney. Vernetta and her have a competitive heated working relationship, always fighting against each other to see who will win. Vernetta is a by the book lawyer which is very good and Girlie is an attractive lawyer that is unorthodox in the way she gets information but definitely sleeps with the enemies to win. She is respected because she wins.

We have a murder at the beginning of the story that intertwines this journey. Vernetta wants her to give up this case as she is in danger which she will not accept. Special and her fiance are having relationship conflicts over the Muslim religion. This is a huge part of the story that pulls at emotions with many characters and has the reader judging also.

Dealing with a huge corporate discrimination case was interesting. The outcome, climatic, this alone was worth the read, entertaining.

Pamela knows how to bring a novel to a close, the last quarter had me on the edge of my seat, I couldn't wait to see who will get what they deserve and how. The major crime gave us the suspense and the legal research and trials gave us the thrill.

Pamela Samuels Young has a way with capturing your attention with her legal cases. You always learn something also, in this case, the religion information was appealing, even though I was a little judgmental. ( )

Attorney-Client Privilege is a riveting fast-paced legal thriller full of twist and turns that will keep you in suspense and guessing at every turn of the page. Cleverly written in the alternating first and third person narratives and set in L.A., the author weaves another intriguing installment (fourth book) in the Vernetta Henderson series. In this novel, the reader is once again following Vernetta as she takes on a new case that will pit her against the cunning attorney Girlie Cortez, while trying to solve the mystery of her client's murder.

The author has created a cast of characters who are realistic and complex people, and are engaging and easy for the reader to relate to. The characters' dynamic dialogues and interactions leap off the page and captivate the reader's attention, while the non-stop action keeps the suspense level high and make this story a very compelling and entertaining read.

Attorney-Client Privilege is the fourth book in the Vernetta Henderson series, but each book can stand alone.

Attorney-Client Privilege by Pamela Samuels Young

This is a fiction Novel written in 2012 by Pam Young.

This is one legal suspense book to capture your attention until you get to the end of the book. The setting is in Los Angeles California. Pam also has a series with the main character and attorney, Vernetta Henderson.

In chapter one, we are introduced to two characters, Olivia Jackson and Judi Irving. The issue is that three friends who work at Big Buy file a sex discrimination lawsuit against it, and it is the largest discount store in California. Ida, Judi and Olivia all work there and file a lawsuit. Judi has a divorce pending with her ex-husband, Robby. Judi now has a live in lover, Phillip whom is an actor and seems to use the kindness that Judi offers freely. The issue is whether the Big Buy Company sexually discriminates against women.

Two weeks into filing the lawsuit, Judi receives a piece of interesting mail. It has documents in it that will help bring down Big Buy in the lawsuit. Judi calls her attorney, Vernetta Henderson to discuss the documents.

Judi has a nasty fight with Phillip and she scratches his face as she is being attacked by him. He leaves in a hurry.
At 3: 37 am an intruder enters Judi's house and Judi ends up dead.

As the investigation takes fire everyone who could be a suspect is questioned.

Robby Irving-Judi's Ex: he is a pharmaceutical sales rep and would have motive to kill Judi for the insurance money.
Phillip Peterman, who wants Judi dead for her insurance money.

The problem seems to be that the documents that Judi had before her death are nowhere to be found.
It is up to you to buy this wonderful thriller to find out where the documents are found and how the final lawsuit turns out.
This is my first in the series, and I plan to get all of them. If you love law, crime, thriller, suspense,
and a believable lawsuit, then pick this book up today. I really enjoyed reading it.
