This world was like sex in the city meets the mortal instruments with a fun twist. I really loved the main character and loved the world building that was developed. It also reminded a bit of super hero show. It was a really fun read but just such a enjoyable read. I really loved listening to it. I also really loved the main characters and will def be checking out more books in this series soon! This book was a super fun listen. Everywhere she goes, she sees something worth gawking at and Katie is afraid she’s a little too normal to make a splash in the big city. Working for an ogre of a boss doesn’t help. Lacking any bit of magic, she can easily spot a fake spell, catch hidden clauses in competitor’s contracts, and detect magically disguised intruders. Suddenly, average Katie is very special indeed. ... No library descriptions found. |

The world building is nice; the plot and the way things wonderfully fall into the lap of the ordinary but somehow very special heroine is not.
It's also curiously asexual for a romance (3 girls, one bedroom, 2 boyfriends, and no mention of how any of them get ANY privacy). It feels like one of the hero's main draws is he... blushes? ( )
