In this dystopian world, love is made to not exist once teenagers get to a certain age, but some have been rebelling. They’ve had to run away. Alex is trying to run and gets caught while the girl he loves, Lena, manages to get away. This tells what Alex went though. I think I only remember the premise of the world because it wasn’t too long ago I read one of the other books in the series. So unfortunately, it really didn’t recap much of what was going on. And it was so incredibly short, so there is not really a chance to get invested in Alex’s story. If you purchased this thinking you'd learn more about Ales and the Delirium books, you will be DISAPPOINTED! There are only 38 pages and most of those are commercials for non related books by this author. I can't believe I actually paid for this! When Alex sacrificed himself to save Lena, he thought he was committing himself to certain death, but what he got was almost worse. Imprisoned and tortured by the guards, his mind forces him to relive a past he would rather forget. But in the dark he grows stronger. Both hopeful and terrified, he fights to find his way back to her and the love he still clings to. So, this is the only book I didn't read in chronological order. I didn't know about this addition to the series until I'd already read most of it, so I saved it for last. Normally, I'm a firm believer in reading things in chronological order, but in this case I think it was better that I didn't. I liked not knowing what happened to Alex while in the middle of the series, but it was very nice to be able to go back and see what he was going through while Lena was on her own adventure after losing him. I definitely think that people who read the series will enjoy this insight. no reviews | add a review
