Fiction. Mystery. HTML:

When George and Bella—a homeless alcoholic and his intimidating German shepherd—disturb the peace outside her studio, yoga instructor Kate Davidson’s Zen-like calm is stretched to the breaking point. Kate tries to get rid of them before Bella scares the yoga pants off her students. Instead, the three form an unlikely friendship.

One night Kate finds George’s body behind her studio. The police dismiss his murder as a drug-related street crime, but she knows George wasn’t a dealer. So Kate starts digging into George’s past while also looking for someone to adopt Bella before she’s sent to the big dog park in the sky. With the murderer nipping at her heels, Kate has to work fast or her next Corpse Pose may be for real.

I received this book from a Goodreads give away. The story is interesting . The characters are realistic. My attention was held throughout the entire story. I really began to care about the characters especially Bella.

I enjoyed the story and look forward to reading more from this author ( )

Interesting first book in a series about a Yoga studio owner/teacher and the dog she tries to save after a homeless man dies. There's not a ton of character development nor a whole lot about yoga in this book, but the mystery itself was pretty good even though I'd guessed the killer fairly early on. There is quite a lot of the book about dealing with the rescued dog.
I liked this a lot more then the British yoga series [b:Downward Facing Death|25663887|Downward Facing Death (Keeley Carpenter #1)|Michelle Kelly|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1437613673s/25663887.jpg|45486801] I'd read recently. ( )

If you're a dog person you'll love Bella, if you're a yoga person you'll love Kate, and if you like cozies this one is well worth reading! The amateur sleuth is a bit of a bumbler, but gets the job done. Interesting characters and plot twists make this a fun read!
Anne James is just perfect as narrator!
